Re: OS/2 Warp and eComStation
I can run OS/2 Warp 4 (no fixpak) as guest in native QEMU (non kqemu). I can also run OS/2 Warp 4 in a domu guest in XEN 3.1 on a Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty) host.
A stripped down eComStation will also work in native QEMU but it will not run in XEN 3.1. When trying to run eComStation in XEN, at boot it will lockup immediately (at boot blob).
Any ideas or fixes that might help?
thanks

security = server & encrypted passwords
Folks,
I've missed the latest encrypted passwords thread, so forgive me if
this is old hat for some of you.
I'm running 2.0.3 with auth being handled by an NT PDC. It seems that
some Win95 clients (namely those with later releases of the OS) have
problems authenticating. I've got encrypt passwords = yes but it
still seems only the old Win95 clients (clear text passwords) can
auth

Connection gets closed after just a few seconds "smbd/service.c:close_cnum(1150)"
I'm testing the AIX binaries for 3.0.24 and have run into a problem.
Depending on how I map the share (using: \\[IP, hostname or
FQDN]\[sharename]) then the connection to the server is closed after
just a few seconds of inactivity.
The server runs on AIX5.3 with the latest fixpack. The client is Win XP
SP2.
I'm currently using 3.0.22 on our production server and don't have this

Networking - OS/2 <- - -> Mandrakelinux
...by name.
In Mandrake I have 2 folders set up that should be visable in
OS/2 Warp.
The most recent error message is in OS/2 "NET2453 - The domain
controller for this domain cannot be found". OS/2 Warp 4 was
installed when it first came out (1996 ?) and has been upgraded
thru several fixpacks since then FP10 being the latest. This is
the third machine it has been on, always moved by tape (backup).
About 5 or 6 years ago Win NT was networked with it,so there
maybe incorrect entries and/or no entries in some places that I
still haven't found.I have 2 partitions in the Shared Resour...

How to improve Samba write performance?
I recently sent the message below to this list, hoping I could get
advise on improving Samba (v2.0.6) write performance from an OS/2
client (I got no responses).
I subsequently ran the same tests from a Linux client using smbmount,
also v2.0.6, and got the same results. The hardware config of the
Linux client is the same as the OS/2 client below. Obviously, the
problem is not
