How to program with colleagues
Dear all,
my colleagues and I have to write some R code for some of our projects.
I would like to ask you help to organize us a little.
a. Do you know if there is any system that can convert our R scripts to html pages with some nice dependency graphs (which functions calls which).
b. Could you please suggest me an easy way to exchange the R code with my colleagues. I know about these version

I am a newbie and I would like some help deciding w hat operating system
Hi Kevin/All,
I''m a rails/ruby noob. Have put a rails app in production on Windows
:-)
We have put our java apps in production using SUSE. If you can throw
some light
On "SUSE is gorgeous but slow" -- it will help us. Is only ruby/rails slow
on Suse OR is
it considered to be generally slow distro for all apps ? If slow for most
apps, how much
Performance hit is that ?

Recent FSF Compromise and rsync ... pgp keys?
Hi, folks.
I've been quite concerned about Open Source and the recent FSF compromise.
I realize that FSF does not seem to have rsync, but prudence would dictate
that I check other sources as well.
Could someone please e-mail the public key for rsync to the list or to me
directly?
rsync-2.5.6.tar.gz rsync-2.5.6.tar.gz.sig
I seem to be having a spot of trouble getting to any public

Troubles with "security=server" setting
Help!
We are running a fairly simple samba setup where we have a single Unix
server functioning as both a file/print server for a number of Windows95
and Windows NT workstations. In our old environment we where using
"security = user" and allowing the Unix server to handle password
authentication, etc. But, given our site's requirement to run login
scripts and the support in samba

Raw Volumes?
Hi, folks.
<shameless plug for rsync>
rsync has changed the way I handle mirroring tasks, and is a wonderful
compliment to EMC's timefinder product. EMC handles their BCV mirror
splits, and rsync handles files and hierarchies on non-EMC disk. I am quite
happy with this arrangement. For small numbers of systems, rsync is far
simpler than NIS+/LDAP for replicating certain types of

Professional grade rsync?
Hi, folks.
We've gone where no man has gone before. On HP-UX, rsync bombs at about
1.75 million directories, files and links (combined sum) in a single
transfer.
Is there a professional-grade alternative on HP-UX for folks willing to pay
for it? It wouldn't even need to be network-aware, just from single-system
areas to the same box, but with the nifty delete and update features that
