Updating firefox after a long time yum-excluded it and having installed it from .rpm
Hello,
I've been stuck for a while with an old version of firefox, installed
from local .rpm (I know.. I should have downgraded using yum, instead)
and added a exclude=firefox to the relevant .repo file. I did that
after a yum-update has brought firefox 52+, and all add-ons were
deprecated because of their new add-on scheme.
Today that all the add-ons I need are...

Running firefox on a remote host on centos-4
Back in the day (read: before the latest firefox update), I used to be
able to ssh to a remote box, run 'firefox -local', and have that box fire
up its own firefox session even if I was running firefox on the system
from I which I sshed. Those days seem to be gone. No matter what I try, if
I've got firefox running on my local deskt...

Hi all,
Since the last upgrade to firefox-60.5.0-2.el7.centos.x86_64 on my
CentOS 7, it is no longer possible to watch Netflix with my Firefox, it
always says that "Firefox is installing components needed to play the
audio or video on this page. Please try again later."
But nothing happens and Netflix is no longer readable wit...

Firefox 2.0 on CentOS 4.4
I realize that CentOS 4.4 is all about stability but I would still like
to install Firefox 2.0 on it, since I am sharing my Firefox project
across OSs on a multi-boot machine and the other OSs have Firefox 2.0.
Is it possible to get CentOS 4.4 to work properly with Firefox 2.0 and,
if so, does anybody know of a CentOS 4.4 repository which has a Firefox
2.0 RPM available.

No sound after latest Firefox update (firefox-78.3.0-1.el6.centos.x86_64)
With Firefox updated to firefox-78.3.0-1.el6.centos.x86_64, I cannot get sound from Firefox. I've tried restarting pulseaudio, also logging out and logging back in. No help. Other A/V apps work just fine. Downgrading to firefox-68.12.0-1.el6.centos.x86_64 makes sound work again. For now, I've excluded v...

C7, just updated firefox, bugs
I just updated the "critical" firefox update, and it is *seriously* buggy.
1. I killed my old session, and started a new. Many (all?) tabs show
*nothing* until I put my cursor in the URL bar and hit <enter>
2. I cannot open a link in an email in thunderbird. I click the link, and
after a bit (30 sec? more?) a small windows tells...

A bit more on the Firefox 3.5.issue
I set up a CentOS desktop computer for my brother and his kids. When
Firefox 3.5 came out he decided to download and install it like he
would Windows (he doesn't yet understand the repository system). He's
been telling me that it works fine, even though I was skeptical due to
my experience with Firefox 3.5 on CentOS 5.3. Then today, he says,
"Oh, by the way, th...

run firefox via an ssh tunnel
Hi all;
I'm trying to setup an ssh tunnel so I can run firefox on a remote
laptop and have the display locally.
I have 2 laptops
local = CentOS 7
remote = mac OSX 10.15.7
I want to create an ssh tunnel on the local CentOS 7 laptop, then run
firefox on the mac with the display showing up on the CentOS laptop.
Is this doable?
Thanks in advance

Firefox for CentOS
I am currently building the latest Firefox updates and I have noticed
that they have upgraded the CentOS-7 Firefox from the ESR tree (45.8) to
the mainline tree (Currently firefox-52.0). They have left EL5 and EL6
at the ESR level (45.8.0-2).

on CentOS 5? We have CentOS 5 workstations
and need to update their Firefox but it dumps
core even when using the libstdc++ from Fedora 9.
I would like anything stable and secure beyond
Firefox 3 but can't find tarballs for anything
other than 7.0.1.
