...les always causes the creation of another file of the same name with ":Zone.Identifier" on it. This is another stream in NTFS, but of course in ext3 it can only be expressed as another file. All it contains is a note on which IE security zone the file was downloaded from. (Precis: http://filext.com/file-extension/IDENTIFIER ) These files are annoying and useless. Is there any simple way to stop them being generated? - d.

I am using Spiceworks, an application made with Ruby on Rails.
