Problems with file date/time creation and modification
...18:30:00
which is older! so when I xcopy /D the file is copied again and again.
I'm Running samba-2.2.7a-8.9.0 on Redhat 9.0
My M$ boxs are both W2K and XP (on NTFS).
I've searched a little around and set :
dos filetime resolution =3D yes 'for the dos 2s resolution time...
and :
dos filetimes =3D yes '...for Visual C++...
But it didn't change anything.
Is it possible to syncronize these filetimes...?

Time conversion from Win32 64bit FILETIME?
Windows-32 has a time structure called FILETIME, a 64-bit value
representing the number of 100-nanosecond intervals since January 1,
1601 (UTC). That is not a typo, the year is 1601.
Does anyone have a clue(or algorhithm)for how this is converted to
something a little more POSIX-like ?
Thank you,
Derek

dos filetime resolution and dvf
I am not getting much benefit from using
oplocks = False
or
dos filetime resolution = True
in Samba 1.9.18p3 on Solaris 2.5.1 and the Developer Studio in Digital
Visual Fortran (v6.0) on WinNT4,SP4. I am also setting my PC clock
to the samba server.
I still get a lot of messages from the Studio informing me the source
code files and workspaces have changed outside the editor or Studio

dos filetime neither for owner
Hello!
On Win9x clients:
With dos filetime = no, if the owner change the file the file's modify
date will be the owners workstation date, if another user change the
file the files modify date will be the samba servers date.
On WinNT clients the behavior is uniform: even if the owner change the
file, the file's modify date will be the samba servers date.
How can I achieve that the Win9x

Filetime Problems
Hi all,
I am having a weird problem with the filetimes, which I can not seem to
get under control:
The Scenario:
I have a file:

Now I make a copy of the FIle to my local harddrive and the date
(creation date) stay the same. Now when I put this file pack on the
samba share the date and time also stays the same.
Now if...

[Hivex][PATCH v2] Report last-modified time of hive root and nodes
The infrastructure for modified-time reporting has been essentially
unused. These changes report the registry time by treating the
time fields as Windows filetime fields stored in little-Endian
(which means they can be treated as a single 64-bit little-Endian
integer).
This patch adds the node_mtime function to the visitor API.

dos filetimes = yes is not correctly used? - utime function calls fail (Version 3.0.7)
...P is member of local group group_rw
group_rw has only full access via posix acl
utime is called and fails
I found one article on the net concerning this problem:
http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2004-February/034230.html
Has anyone a solution for this problem?
The directive dos filetimes = yes must be working fine with posix acl. E.g Situation 3 must be
working fine and is the preffered setup.
Will 3.0.8 solve this issue?

PDC error; can not open passdb database
I am looking to setup a domain server. I have tried and tried and this is the closest I have gotten so far.
The main problem I have is in the user authentication. I am getting an error that the user or password is wrong. Currently it looks like Samba can not access the passwd file. What is this file?
My log for the client give this error:
