My main desktop is a CentOS 7 installation, and Tracker is a very useful
desktop search tool when I need to find a local file by using a keyword.
I need to use it almost every a few minutes.

A more interesting question would be: Where would one go to completely
STOP these files from being created / cached / logged / stored etc?

Hmm. was unaware of tracker-etc. what are these indexes used for?
I can't think of anything I do on the system that would need to know
all bout some arbitrary file somewhere on the filesysystem, so why
would this be useful?
thanks in advance!

Issue with Steam after Steam update
...h other differences in hardward. After I discovered the issue I made sure to ask him to update Steam without making any changes to his box (just incase I had forgotten and I had made changes). He had steam running fine, it told him he had an update, he updated, and then same error.
The error about filesysystem.dll appears to be an issue that people have had on and off on windows with Steam and considering it appeared again with a recent Steam update I figured I would start seeing lots of posts about it as everyone else updated, but I have not. Any thoughts on what else I might try?
