Caret package: coeffcients for regression
Dear All,
I am using "Caret"package for SVM regression and elastic net
regression . I can get the final fiited vs observed values. How can I get
the coefficients? Any ideas?
Thanks

nnet problem
Hello everybody,
I want to use the nnet library and my problem is that the algorithm seems
to accept only class as target when the neural is fiiting. So the output
when I use predict.nnet is also a class. Is it possible to have numeric
variable as target ? If yes, what is the syntax ?
Thank you.

Help on how to use predict
Dear R-Users
My problem is quite simple: I need to use a fitted model to predict the next
point (that is, just one single point in a curve).
The data was divided in two parts: identification (x and y - class matrix)
and validation (xt and yt - class matrix). I don't use all values in x and
y but only the 10 nearest points (x[b,] and y[b,]) for each regression (b is
a vector with the

Is Wine64 usable yet?
Hi,
I am trying to get a general feel of how usable Wine64 is.
I just built 1.3.13.
To see how well it works, I ran 64-bit Putty. It works flawlessly.
Now, I am trying to play around with different little programs. I took
"notepad.exe" from a Windows 7 install (hoping it would be a reasonably
simple program for a start). It crashed with:

multivariate locfit regression
...=dat(),kt="prod",kern="gauss")
g21<-predict(fit2,type="terms")
If I done this on the computer the results of (g21) is a vector of results when I should have a matrix with 2 columns (one for each fitted smooth function).
Please, somebody knows how I can get the fiitted values of both smooth functions (m1) and (m2) using a local linear regression with kernel weights as this example?
thanks a lot in advance.

Bad points in regression [Broadcast]
None of Andy's comments) are inconsistent with the point that
rlm() and lqs(), if they disagree with lm(), likely offer better
places to start than does lm(), in identifying points that should
be examined as in some sense outliers. All such methods are
to be used, not as crutches, but as sources of insight.
Incidentally, the "rlm" class inherits from "lm", and plot.lm()

self organizing map advice for categorical data
Hello,
Could anybody offer any advice about implementing a Kohonen self organizing map for categorical data? Specifically I am wondering if there are any pre-existent packages that can deal with categorical data and/or how one would compare the input vector of categoricals with the self organizing map nodes.
Thanks in advance.

havent found clear answer using google and searching mailng list till
now:
1) is there a way to get some password changing tool (smbpasswd,
ldappasswd, smbldap-passwd, etc.) obey account policy, which I set using
pdbedit (and works fine when I try to
