Dovecot aspects of fighting spam
I see no documents in the Dovecot documents wiki on how Dovecot features can be used in the fight against spam. One hit came up in a search, and it was about how to fight spam in the MoinMoin Wiki itself (e.g. TextCHAs and such). I already asked in another thread about removing message files at the search from a designated "learn-spam" folder. My next question would be how to autom...

Promise TX2 and ATARAID....... kjouirnald and kupdated seem to fight it out for reasourses
What is really puzzling me is that the ataraid device (/dev/ataraid/d0p1 mounted as /bigdisk) 2x 123GB IBM Deskstar's is formated as ext2...top and ps etc... show a fight between kjournald and kupdated and all searches for kjournald or kupdated fights suggest ext3 issues... :-) It's a RedHat 7.2, 2.4.7-10 custom kernal (I added in the Promise FastTrak support and HIGH mem support to break through the c800MB barrier to use the whole 1GB RAM). Creates the array...

I think the speculation on Red Hat needs to stop, and I don't know why you had to interject this as well. From what I've seen, I don't think Red Hat is in any legal position to accept

CentOS Wiki - Fight FUD?
In the up and coming wiki, don't forget to have an FAQ/Fight against FUD section. Looking at the web in January an upstream vendor employee said some things in his wiki. In Feb/March CentOS was discussed on the Fedora-list/Slashdot. - Common myths about the legality/ethicality of CentOS - CentOS providing value to Open Source as a whole - Projects emanating...

Samba and the PDC are fighting for being the Browse master, why?
...ba name server FAURE has stopped being a local master browser for workgroup PIEZO on subnet 192.168.32.1 ***** 1998/08/10 13:33:28 ***** Samba name server FAURE is now a local master browser for workgroup PIEZO on subnet 192.168.32.1 ***** and so on. Every 12 minutes these two are starting to fight for being the LMB. FAURE is the samba machine and GUTENGERG is the PDC (NT-Server). For various reasons, I want the samba machine to be the local master browser (and the domain master browser) so I have: domain master = yes local master = yes preferred master = yes os...

Still fighting the IPv6 client dying...
Well, we're still fighting it, and one thing I've discovered that I find extremely odd: the IPv6 lease file. On my C7 workstation, if I grep -c lease6, I see 5 leases; on a C6 server, I see 9, and in the last few days, I saw my box - they mass restarted the IPv6 clients everywhere yesterday, because a good number of s...

help a journalist: What do you wish the CIO understood about fighting spam?
...ying to put together the collected wisdom of e-mail and network admins in a fashion that CIOs will understand. Or at least one teeny corner of it. So I have a very simple question to pose to you: ***If you could get your CIO (or top management) to understand one thing, just ONE thing, about fighting spam, what would it be?*** And the follow-up: why did you pick that one item? Feel free to share anecdotes, horror stories, even success stories. While I hope that every CIO will read this article, I also hope that it becomes the document you bring to a new manager ("Here: this is w...

Postfix , Dovecot & the Spam fight
Hi, I'm currently busy with a substiution of my current mail server. I'm currently using * Clam-SMTP and * SpamAssassin to fight Spam. I wonder if it is worth implementing AmaViS with SpamAssassin backend instead and also using AmaViS to speak to clamd directly. But I more and more wonder wether AmaViS is even worth it?! It currently looks to me as if AmaViS is eating LOTS of ressources and it is very uncomfortable for a...

NetworkManager fights with DHCP-only backup NIC
...the MAC binding in the ifcfg-* file, to prevent NM from moving the broken static IP info to the second NIC? Have you put NM_CONTROLLED="no" in the ifcfg-eth0 script? > Yes, we know we can still disable NetworkManager and edit network-scripts/ifcfg-* directly. We?d just prefer not to fight the OS. Also, unlike EL6, disabling NM on EL7 breaks the network GUI, which we?ve occasionally found helpful, as when we have a semi-clueful tech at the remote site. > _______________________________________________ > CentOS mailing list > CentOS at centos.org > http://lists.centos.org...
