Permission denied using mount.cifs
I'm having a strange problem mounting a share from a Windows 2003 server using cifs: mount.cifs //osirus.ficticious.org/inetpub /inetpub -ouser=transfer,pass=dkfhjdjskd It comes back immediately with: mount error 13 = Permission denied Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs) However, the command below works. (abeit with about a 15 second wait before it comes back): mount.smbfs //os...

passwd-file access
...uot; in which case I get the error "Fatal: USER environment missing". So I search for this in the src and find in 'src/imap/main.c' on line 30 it checks for the environment variable USER.. which I assume it can't find because it's not an actual system user, it's a ficticious user in a passwd-file. Any ideas? -- Jesse Peterson erage at softhome.net

accessing function arguments as text, macro style
...", c), data=d) > For more complicated examples, instead of using paste repeatedly I would like to use a function. It seems like what I really want is a macro, though. I'm not quite familiar enough with R's treatment of function parameters to know how to do something like this (ficticious example): f <- function(x) { paste(identifier(x), value(x)) } > rambo <- "brave" > f(rambo) "rambo brave" I've checked ?function, ?args, ?eval, and some others, but I think I'm barking up the wrong tree. Any pointers would be most appreciated....

Port 32230 anyone?
...o TCP port 32230 every five minutes. I''m probably just going to add a drop rule without logging, but was curious if anyone knew what this traffic was attempting to connect to? An Nmap scan of my network shows no open ports anywhere near 32230. Obviously, the DST= address is changed to a ficticious one. I left the SRC= address unchanged. Now, say you have just found a very good IAX2 peer, FooFone that offers /wonderful/ rates to the ficticious country code 666. You can use a script like this, to tell the asterisk application EnumLookup (see the howto above) to use this peer for that country: #!/bin/sh TTL=3600 SERVER=nameserver.example.com SERVER=sparx ZONE=e164.example.com KEYFILE=Kclient.example.com.+157+13404.key nsupdate -v -k...

Saving Direct to Shared Mailbox (Was: Re: Sending email over IMAP?)
Thinking along similar lines to this sending email via IMAP... What I am thinking, is using Shared Folders/Mailbox's, like mailing lists. We have the power of ACL's, and if you have the appropriate permissions, you can 'append' emails to the folder. Except, when you think of a mailing list, you usually just hit reply. One of the projects I am working on, will be setup with a

...at using samba to do MS Active Directory stuff, but I have read everything I could find in the HOWTO collection and on the linux.samba cache of the list and am still stuck. A bit of background... I have set up a Windows 2003 server as a domain controller here and configured it to be the DNS for a ficticious domain for internal use only. The domain functional level is Windows 2003. I am calling the domain "windomain.nist.gov" and have set up the Win2003 server to do DNS and AD authentication for the "windomain" domain.
