Help with coloring segments on a plot
..., 8 , 9 , 10
Each of the ten values will refer to a different colour just as "1" would
plot a segment in red and "2" would plot a segment in darkgreen.
The only other condition I need is that the colours be in hex format. Would
this be along the right lines? :

Two RJS visual effects will happen at the same time?
I was going to change the background of a div from white to red and then
from red back to white, so this is used in an RJS file:
page[:vote_score].visual_effect :highlight, :startcolor => ''#ffffff'',
:endcolor => ''#ffcccc''

Log color scale
Hi all,
In response to a previous post about plotting a numeric square matrix
as a colored matrix, I was referred to both image and the
color2D.matplot function in the plotrix package. Both have worked for
me thanks!!
However I need to plot my data in a log transformed color scale. Is
this possible? I will be happy to explain further, but basically I

ugly login screen - squirrel

strsplit and sapply
Colleagues,
I have some text:
TEXT <- c("a", "bb;ccc", "dddd;eeeee;ffffff")
I want to retrieve the portion of each element before the first
semicolon. I can split each element using strsplit:
SPLIT <- strsplit(TEXT, ";")
This yields:

gray background on jpegs using dev.print()
When I try writing the current device to a jpeg file I keep getting a gray background
for the jpeg images using dev.print.
I have tried using the option bg="white" and bg="#FFFFFF"
but neither seem to have any effect.
If instead of writing to a screen device I open a jpeg device I can get any background color
I want. This works, but I prefer to write to the screen and then
output to file if I like the results rather than to a file and have to view the jpegs
to see re...
