firefox and IronPort
...r does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555 I'm told they're running Cisco's IronPort. It appears the patch came out a year and a half or so ago. However, I also found a post where someone, apparently running on Windows, couldn't get to a site they needed to, either with IE 9 or FF10.somethingorother, until they downgraded. The support folks report they can get there, from Windows boxes. I've tried Mozilla's workarounds, in about:config, but no joy. My ff is up to date, including both patches from last week, and as those were critical, I'm very loathe to downgrade...

newhidups with APC Smart-UPS 1500
Hello, I'm using the stable amd64 port of Debian Linux. I installed (the latest) nut-2.0.1-4 and nut-usb packages for utilizing an APC Smart-UPS 1500 USB. I tried "apcupsd" first but "nut" makes an even more sophisticated impression on me and has more security options. I had problems with the newhidups driver. It didn't find a device with matching VendorID. And

Stopping a server not controled by service
Miredo is run as a server from the command line: /usr/sbin/miredo The man page says the signal SIGTERM stops the server. How do I send SIGTERM to the server? Or SIGHUP, as I want to make a change to the config file. And once I get this as I want it, how do I run it at system boot?

Stall on CPU
Hi, I have been receiving messages on a new DomU''s kern.log. I''ve done a lot of googling, but haven''t came up with anything very useful, at least not in a Xen context. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what could be wrong. From everything I have read, there should be a stack trace included, but I am not seeing one. Thanks in advance, Ian. on
