The function palette would return the previous palette, and

After a call to palette integer col= specification would provide

Wishlist: user-specified color names for palette() (PR#4836)
Full_Name: Hsiu-Khuern Tang
Version: 1.8.0
OS: GNU/Linux (Debian unstable)
Submission from: (NULL) (156.153.255.243)
Hi,
I use palette(rgb(red=..., green=..., blue=..., names=mycolors)) to define my
own color palette. After doing this, the names `mycolors' are not stored in
palette() anymore, so that palette() returns a mix of built-in color names and
RGB values.
Eg:

transparent concentric circles
I have a data set which I would like to plot as a set of concentric
circles. The data represent a count of the number of characteristics
shared by various elements - an example would look like this:
1 100
2 75
3 50
4 25
I.e. all four sets share 25 characteristics, three of them share 50
characteristics, and so on.
I would like to plot these as concentric circles, with the circle size

reloading fragments of pages
Hello,
I have a treeview, that works with scriptaculous in order to load the nodes
dynamically.
I also have in the main part of the page, a table with the list of elements.
The lists of elements can be drag-dropped on the treeview in order to move
them around
(they are also draggable on other parts of the page)
I need though, to refresh the treeview to reflect changes when a folder was
moved

Help with levelplot color assignment in lattice
Dear R users,
I'm currently trying to make level plots of a longitudinal study of the
spatio-temporal spread of a plant disease in a field, but the results of the
color key assignment isn't what I expect.
Here's more info. I recorded the level of a disease on an ordinal scale from
0 (no disease) to 9 (dead plant) on a grid that has 9 rows and 14 columns.
The disease level on each

Direct I/O ability with zfs?
We are using MySQL, and love the idea of using zfs for this. We are used to using Direct I/O to bypass file system caching (let the DB do this). Does this exist for zfs?

zpool kernel panics.
Hi Folks,
I''ve got a 3.9 Tb zpool, and it is casing kernel panics on my Solaris
10 280r (SPARC) server.
The message I get on panic is this:
panic[cpu1]/thread=2a100a95cc0: zfs: freeing free segment
(offset=423713792 size=1024)
This seems to come about when the zpool is being used or being
scrubbed - about twice a day at the moment. After the reboot, the
scrub seems to have
