trouble with ferdora core 5 with samba
I installed the latest version of Ferdora Core 5 with samba. The
installation of Ferdora is fine, and I can see the shares I have set
up on my Win XP Pro machine. But, there is a problem with the
rights. I have made the files on the linux box 777, but I can still
not write to the files. It is as though the files are still read

Problem in tracing the code at client end
I am using samba 3.0.7 on Ferdora Core (2.6.5-3)
I performed the following operation at the client
side
mount //abc/abc_share /xyz
cd /xyz
mkdir pqr
where "abc" is the remote server

HP Envy EFI problem after BIOS update
...first time in ages this morning.
When I did that, it installed some updates including a BIOS update.
Once this was all done, once again the GRUB boot menu was gone and it booted
straight into Win8. Using the advanced boot manager options in Win8 I
managed to get the EFI boot menu up and chose Ferdora 21.
It was only after Fedora failed to boot that I realised that this was wrong.
Some time ago I had replaced F21 with Centos 7 and the three Centos 7 options
were the ones that should be available - plus the Windows 8 boot manager.
