AEC - Echo is cancelled however.....
1) Everytime a participant speaks there is a echo for a short duration
(maybe a word or two) but as the participant continues to speak without a
any break the echo is 95% cancelled (i.e there is a feeble echo still
present if observed very carefully).
2) The moment the participant stops / pauses speaking and start talking
again, scenario 1 is repeated as if the echo state has been re-initialized
or reset.
Please note that I observe this in a single audio session and not after
restarting the appl...

Interpreting logwatch
Every few days I see in the logwatch on my Centos-5.5 web-server
what seems like a rather feeble break-in attempt.
Eg today I see

(a) The foregoing is getting too subtle for my feeble brain.
(b) A fundamental problem with the
if(FALSE) {
...
}
paradigm is that the enclosed code must be syntactically valid, and
there are certainly situations in which one might wish to comment out
sections of code that are *not* syntactically valid. E.g. one might

xyTable(x,y) versus table(x,y) with NAs
Hi all,
Posted this many years ago (https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2017-December/075224.html), but either this slipped under the radar or my feeble mind is unable to understand what xyTable() is doing here and nobody bothered to correct me. I now stumbled again across this issue.
x <- c(1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3)
y <- c(1, 2, 1, 3, NA, 3)
table(x, y, useNA="always")
xyTable(x, y)
Why does xyTable() report that there are NA instances...

legend, "lheight", and alignment
...quot; in the code below to accomplish this? Here's how it
appears on my machine:

2) Because I'm using a call to 'expression' in the text contained in the
legend, it would be nice to space the lines of text a bit more. My feeble
attempt was to increase the lheight parameter in the hopes this would affect
the legend...to no avail. Further, lheight cannot be added to the argument
list of legend. I've been unable to track down another parameter applicable
to legend, suggestions very much appreciated.

partition woes (mapper/isw_bdihgcgahe_Volume0p2)
...cond drive and doing;
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb
... to even installing diff OS's like Ubuntu and Windows which see 2
individual disks where I repartition/reformat the drives.
Seems as though I can't truly re write a part of the master boot
record or some other area.
I'm pretty feeble with this crap so can any one help me get a clue on
what to do?
These drives may have been in some hard ware raided system of the
past, am unsure and no one here knows.
This is really driving me crazy!!!!!

building hpa tftp under cygwin?
...but not buildable.
The 0.36 version appears to build, but barfs when started with
./tftpd.exe -l -u [user] /tftpboot
(I substitute an actual username for [user] above)
Has anyone built hpa-tftpd under cygwin? Is a binary version or package
available for cygwin? (Obviously my building skills are feeble).
Thanks in advance for any assistance or direction that anyone can provide...

Looking for an unequal variances equivalent of the Kruskal Wallis nonparametric one way ANOVA
Well fellow R users, I throw myself on your mercy. Help me, the unworthy,
satisfy my employer, the ungrateful. My feeble ramblings follow...
I've searched R-Help, the R Website and done a GOOGLE without success for a
one way ANOVA procedure to analyse data that are both non-normal in nature
and which exhibit unequal variances and unequal sample sizes across the 4
treatment levels. My particular concern is to be...

[LLVMdev] Disassembly arbitrary machine-code byte arrays
...s? For example, I might have an array of unsigned chars --
how could I go about decoding these into MCInst objects? Does such a
decoding process take place in one fell swoop or do I parse the stream
one instruction at a time? Can I ask it to "decode the next 10 bytes"?
What follows is my (feeble) attempt at getting started. It probably
doesn't help that I am only familiar with C and Objective-C and find
C++ syntax absolutely bewildering.
Kind regards,
Aidan Steele

Any news on the rSpec books?
I admit it, when it comes to rSpec, I''m lazy. I''ve made a few feeble
attempts to use it, but for once I''m waiting for a book-length
treatment. At least two books were announced, I think. Can anyone in
the know please report on their progress?
Thanks
Michael

Xen HVMs run VERY slowly on SAN box
...s. In our configuration the dom0 administers to
domUs created and run on a SAN box accessed via private network
(192.168...). A sample configuration file is pasted below.
We have had little or no IO problem with HVMs created and run locally on
dom0. However, HVMs run on the SAN suffer from VERY feeble IO. Even a
entry of a single character or entering return will cause the command
line to freeze for 30 seconds or more.
We have had no IO problems running ''regular'' para-virtualised Xen vms on
the SAN box. (We are choosing HVMs for separate reasons).
As I understand it, perh...
