dnsmasq does not start
Hi! I am trying to run tap networking with libvirtd. My test system is Fedora18/ppc64, libvirt 1.0.4 (compiled from git and installed). On another system with Fedora17/ppc64 with the same settings, dnsmasq is running. All configs in /etc/libvirt/ are default and not changed, the only exception is /etc/libvirt/qemu/networks/default.xml which I copied from Fedora17/ppc64 setup. What does exactly force libvirtd to start dnsmasq? Some debug info: [root at vpl2...

Resizing lvm fails with fedora20
Hi, I'm trying to resize a 15GB LVM root partition on a fedora20 server with a fedora20 guest and I'm having a problem. Is this supported on fedora20? I recall having a similar problem (maybe even exact same problem) all the way back in fedora16 or fedora17, but hoped/thought it would be fixed by now? # virt-df -h test1-011015.img Filesystem Size Used Available Use% test1-011015.img:/dev/prop/boot 476M 109M 338M 23% test1-011015.img:/dev/prop/root 14G 10G 3.3G 72% # truncate -s 50G ne...

Libvirt remote-client compilation for RHEL4
...r an RHEL4 target. Our virtualization hosts are running the fedora 17/ RHEL6 with the latest standard libvirt binaries. This is where VMs will be created. But our user/development machines are RHEL4 and we would like users to be able to use virsh/libvirt/python to control the Vms running on RHEL6/fedora17 remotely from the their RHEL4 machines. We are trying to compile a minimalist libvirt necessary on RHEL4 that would make remote control of VMs possible. Has anyone tried this? Any suggestions on what options to pass to ./configure to minimize what needs to be compiled for this purpose? Or on RH...

WARNING you cannot build info or html versions of the R manuals
...g is your friend here. You can search for srpms there, download them, and rebuild them. That said, since you've listened to all of this, I've installed a Fedora 17 VM instance on my laptop and built you the missing packages you need to build R fully featured: https://spot.fedorapeople.org/fedora17-R-deps/ There is a src.rpm in there too for texlive, you don't need to install it, I just included it because I had to make a minor fix in that package to reflect the dependencies available in Fedora 17 (but really only to install the texinfo-tex subpackage, which I don't think you need to...

PCI passthrough troubles
...e to successfully configure a pci passthrough using libvirt with kvm. Hoping someone can shed some light on the problem. Overall my experience with virtualization limited is so please forgive. The guest runs fine till passthrough is configured. I am using virt-manager. This has been tried on both a Fedora17 x86_64 and Arch Linux x86_64 build with pretty much identical errors. I have carefully reviewed my hardware and purchased vt-d enabled parts where needed. vt-d is enabled for my chipset, cpu and in it's enabled in the bios. on both systems I complied a custom kernel to enable DMA Remapping, PC...
