txfax/rxfax fun
Hi Gang,
I'm trying to make an application to upload a tiff via a web
interface, slap a cover page onto it, merge the two into a new tiff and send
it out via txfax. I'm able to get it out to a fax machine using this
sequence:
/usr/bin/tiff2pdf /tmp/faxout/1229978819_filea.tif -o
/tmp/faxout/1229978819_filea.pdf
/usr/bin/gs -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -q -sDEVICE=pdfwrite
-OutputFile=/srv/www/htdocs/faxout/1229978819_fin.pdf
/srv/www/htdocs/faxout/1229978819_faxout.pdf
/tmp/faxout/1229978819_filea.pdf
cp /srv/www/htdocs/faxout/1229978819_fin.pdf

is the Request URI)
(And the Record-Route, Via that are added, of course).
Outgoing Context is faxserver-out, incoming context is faxserver (at
least should be).
Outgoing context is straight forward:

auto-dial dial status
I'm using autodial in conjuction with TxFax to send faxes on demand.
An home made application generates the call file and puts it in the
outgoing spool, the file is like this:
Channel:Zap/g1/1232314324
MaxRetries:0
RetryTime:60
WaitTime:20
Context:faxout
Extension:s
SetVar:FAX_FILE=/shared/awfax/test.tif
the extension called is this:
[faxout]
exten => s,1,TxFax(/shared/awfax/test.tif|caller)
exten => s,2,Hangup
My problem is that if asterisk can't connect to the called end then it
doesn't go to the extension, so i am unable to rep...

How to run different codecs between the same endpoints on an IAX trunk?
Or perhaps how to configure and refer to two parallel IAX trunks with
different codecs?
I have a situation where I'm using G.729A as my IAX trunking codec. Now I
need to push some short duration, low bitrate modem traffic over the link (a
credit card terminal). Obviously the modem audio isn't going to survive the
G.729 codec process intact, so for the times the device is used I'd like
