"dumb" SATA controller recommendation
Just wondering if any 4.2 users out there have a favourite "dumb" PCI controller to add a couple of SATA ports to a motherboard that doesn't include SATA support. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just 2 SATA ports that a recent vintage kernel will recognize without a lot of configuration gymnastics. The intended use is for relati...

VMWare ESXi & CentOS5.4
...ller for 5 workstations which will run Windows XP, as well as host 1 website with email. It will setup a few shares for samba, and have one network printer attached to it. Any thoughts to this, or should I just put on CentOS 5.4 and be done with it? I know it's like asking what everyone's favourite colour is, but maybe a few replies will give me some ideas. Thanks. -- -=/>Thom

mysql based adressbook with agi and web interface ?
Hi, I'm looking for adressbook that could easily integrate into Asterisk, so it should: - have agi script to search for caller id name - have fields for notes on previous contacts (for CRM spawning of FOP) - have web interface to edit entries easily ... Any advice, pointers ? What is your favourite address book to use with Asterisk ? Regards, Rob.

Unable to POST after suspend
...esetting the CMOS, the CPU FAN and hard drives power up, which it has never done before (IIRC). This is the only way I can get anything to power on, there's no reaction whatsoever when I hit the power or reset buttons. Please don't tell me that clicking a button in a GUI menu has broken my favourite testing PC permanently. Any hints would be very appreciated. [4.0 Release] Schedule and call for testers
...art disappearing for the holidays. Note that this release will also switch us to the new versioning scheme where the major version is incremented for each major release (i.e., when the 4.0 branch is created, trunk will become 5.0). If you'd like to help providing binaries and testing for your favourite platform, please subscribe to the release-testers mailing list [1]. I propose the following schedule for the 4.0 release: - 12 January 2017: Create the 4.0 branch. RC1 tagged soon thereafter. - 1 February: Tag RC2. All lose ends should have been tied up by now. - 21 February: Final tag. Binarie...

Gamest and QoS
...1), 40% (prio 2), 20% (prio 3) ,20% (prio 4) This works very well when users surfing internet (www, mail, ssh), but is insufficient when i really need low, stable latency for example for games. Games traffic is in class1. Without QoS, while uploading some files via ftp i have pings (in my favourite game) 1000+. With my qos script my ping lower to 150 - 300, but is very unstable. Is there any way to configure htb, to have good, __STABLE__ pings ( 40 - 100) while other people exploring the internet. Is use default htb parameters, maybe i must change some of them? Any suggestions?...

[cfe-dev] RFC: Implementing -fno-delete-null-pointer-checks in clang
...uot;Assume that programs cannot safely > dereference null pointers, and that no code or data element resides at > address zero." (-fno-delete-null-pointer-checks is the opposite.) Ah, now that's quite a bit more palatable. I really should have read the docs before spouting "my favourite rant #1". Then my main concern is that we end up with a sufficiently clear (and documented) definition that we're not promising more than we intend. I get very grumpy if I can't tell someone with UB that they're Doing It Wrong. Of the two options, I still think the second is a non...
