Samba on an AIX - HACMP Cluster
Hi!
Has anybody experience in running Samba on an IBM AIX High Availability
Cluster with 2 nodes? At the moment we are using NFS + Maestro NFS-Client
for NT and want to change to a server software using SMB (meaning either IBM
FastConnect or Samba).
The server is supposed to be a file server for about 1000 Users. We don't
need advanced futures like load balancing or take over of active
connections. But it should be possible to switch a NetBios name plus shares
between two nodes in case of a mutual takeover.

Regarding multiple writes to a file in samba server
...samba share as a drive and the database
program runs from that drive.
My smb.conf is a simple 10 line conf file that sets
the workgroup name, server string and describe this
share. It is as simple as that.
How to solve this??? Apparently, only one user can
update at any moment. We had IBM's FastConnect before
this and it used to work. We have switched to samba
and never got this to work. Btw, we have samba-3.0.10
Do I have to disable oplocks on the clients too (in
our case the win2k and win2k3 servers)???
I'd appreciate quick response.
TIA
Sanjay.

OK. there I am again!
Well, I read quite a few documents; thanks for pointing them out... And I
got "it" working...
The most important point I learned is P_a_t_i_e_n_c_e! You really have to wait
a few minutes after having modified your smb.conf and restarted samba. And
you have plenty of time to reboot your client, I am not sure whether you
really need this, but anyway... it really takes quite some

Newbie Question
Does Samba allow me to mount NT (disks) file systems on my Unix (SGI)
box?
