Dumb question - reaching the PSTN
...it is starting to look mature enough to consider implementing it, but there is one thing that I haven't been able to get a clear answer on... With Vonage, you are using the Vonage network - it is their responsibility to route your call to the endpoint, which is more than likely on the old fashined PSTN. If I install Asterisk, how do my calls actually get completed? How do they get 'bridged' over to the PSTN? I attended a Seminar today hosted by Dynasis, and one of the issues was VoIP. ShoreTel was there, and the said I had to have phone lines, whether they were POTS lines, che...

[LLVMdev] Performance vs other VMs
The release of a new code generator in Mono 2.2 prompted me to benchmark the performance of various VMs using the SciMark2 benchmark on an 8x 2.1GHz 64-bit Opteron and I have published the results here: http://flyingfrogblog.blogspot.com/2009/01/mono-22.html The LLVM results were generated using llvm-gcc 4.2.1 on the C version of SciMark2 with the following command-line options: llvm-gcc

ssh hang with ForceCommand=internal-sftp
> /usr/sbin/sshd -oForceCommand=internal-sftp > sftp user at host # This connects as expected. > ssh user at host # This hangs...at least from an end-user's perspective. It would be ideal if the connection terminated gracefully. Do others see this same behavior? If so, is there a fix or configuration change that can implemented to eliminate the hang? I'm using OpenSSH
