Icecast auth over MAC address
Hi All
For a project we'd want to authenticate Listening Clients over their Network
MAC address. Anyone knows whether that's possible or not? We think about a
(flat) file, containing the allowed MAC addresses, the icecast server
checking whether the clients match (=authenticate) or not (=deny).
Thanks,
Alex

Icecast auth over MAC address
...if windows support this, but for linux/unix users it should be
possible to authenticate via mac address in routed network using icecast url
authentication + eth over ip software bridge.

Something else, Greg. Are you aware of any 3G / 2.5G (EDGE) clients for
mobile phones that support AAC+ streaming? Be it java or symbian based.
Thanks

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I believe that Oddsock is using a Content Type of aacp.
Using a .aac extension with this Content Type may present a conflict.
This might actually be by design.
I will do some further testing with Winamp and report here tomorrow.
I will also double-check with the developer of Winamp for complete
clarification.
FYI, Orban Opticodec-PC allows the use of either Content Type of aac
or aacp. aac is

Ezstream w/re-encoding for Windows
Hi All
We are using Ezstream (http://www.icecast.org/ezstream.php) for a couple of
purposes and like it very much. Now, for the first time, we need to use
ezstreams' RE-ENCODING feature. Oddsock described the encoding/decoding
part, but our ezstream runs on WINDOWS and not on Linux. LAME is no problem,
but the DECODING makes us struggle a bit since madplay doesn't seem to have

Session Expired for Profile Publishing
Ok. I''m not having any success with publishing profile FBML.
Example code:
class WelcomeController < ApplicationController
layout "facebook"
ensure_application_is_installed_by_facebook_user
def index
@user = facebook_session.user
...
@user.profile_fbml = render_to_string( :template => ''welcome/profile'' )
end
