[Interopcast-general] about translatingdocumentation, but not only documentation.
Just a few weeks ago, I was thinking of writing a streaming source using
libshout and portaudio. I was also considering LADSPA support, to do
some minor post-processing before encoding. However, I'm currently
developing on Mac OS X, and LADSPA's shared library plugin model has
some issues here to be resolved.
Another nice feature I have given a thought on is incorporating

time out issues with icecast2
...icecast problem which it certainly seems to be, or
what else might be going on. I know Windows is not too great, but
that is what they have and they don't have the bandwidth to be the
server themselves -- that is where I thought icecast could do the
streaming.

This is call for volunteers to try out some modifications to icecast for
supporting burst on connection (aka fast pre-buffering).
http://www.xiph.org/~karl/icecast-2.0-kh8.tar.gz
Your existing icecast.xml configuration file should have the same
behaviour as CVS is now ie no bursting, only when you add the
<burst-size> tags (specified in bytes) in the <limits> section should
the burst

time out issues with icecast2
But the source computer runs the other os, so I don't have too much
choice as to what I can do and the timeout problems remain with mp3
as well. The persons involved don't want to use .ogg for now so that
is also not an option. Is this an icecast bug, or some other problem?

It's a question of getting the compiler environment setup to do the port. Much
of libshout and ices2 are ready but, certain things like live input are different
from whats in windows.

Hey Karl,
Any chance CVS will ever match up to your modifications? I checked out CVS
ices/libshout the other day for a new system and I noticed it corrupted

Ices on OS X
So this is just an update of what I've been doing lately. I don't post
to this list much but I'm on IRC a lot. So hi everyone...
I had this idea that a live input module for ices on OS X would be a
good thing. I started to look into the CoreAudio API but then I
discovered that JACK can theoretically run on OS X. JACK is cool and
Karl's most recent source has an input module
