10Gbit ethernet
...re I spend a great deal of money, can I ask if anyone here has experience of 10GBit? Dell, HP, Supermicro, IBM (etc..) seem to be pushing the NetXen PCIe cards, so I guess these drivers work...? As to media, although CX4 seems cheaper than optical, I hear the cabling is nasty. And is the magical fairy going to fix 10Gbit over cat6A anytime soon? any thoughts appreciated. Jake --

But again, you?re going up against ash, which is BSD, which annoys almost no one. :) The CDDL does not annoy people, this is just a fairy tale from some OSS enemies. BTW: I am of course not against ash, I just support the Bourne Shell. RTP/RTCP payload?
(hello all, this is my first writing. so please bear with me if I'm wrong anywhere.) orry to break too lately, but how is the RTP payload submission is going? could we see the new payload at March IETF? I agree that it would be fairy straightforward to make an RTP payload for ogg vorbis, assuming raw packets, AFAIK. using physical bitstream is, in this case, not adequate by the reasons in RFC-1889. but I don't think that's enough. rather than sending comments in the same RTP packet, we'd better send it in RTCP pack...

Please help: domU becomes unresponsive
Hi all, sorry to intrude on xen-devel, but I think I need direction from the expertise here. I''ve admin''d Xen servers of various flavors for a couple years, but never seen this before. After a period ranging from several hours to several days, my primary database and development DomU completely locks up. Net disconnects, but CPU(sec) continues to tick in xentop. No errors, and

Native ZFS on Linux
I have a question that has been puzzling me for some time ... what is the reason RedHat chose to go with btrfs rather than working with the ZFS-on-Linux folks (now OpenZFS)? Is it a licensing issue, political, etc? Although btrfs is making progress, ZFS is far more mature, has a few more stable features (especially Raid-z3) and has worked flawlessly for me on CentOS-6 and Scientific Linux-6.

Puppet proxies
I''ve seen a couple of examples of using puppet to control services where you can''t run a puppet agent on the resource. As far as I can tell they work by having puppet proxy through some external-service control mechanism, such as fog. The question is: where does the proxy run? I assume a puppet agent needs to run somewhere. Where do you put that agent, how do you configure it,

logistic regression or discriminant analysis ?
Hello, Does logistic regression really provide better results than lda or qda ? (my purpose is not classification but highlighting of discriminant variables). If this is true, where could I get an R script performing stepwise logistic regression ? Thanks -- Daniel AMORESE Lab. Is it a licensing issue, political, etc? There is no licensing issue, but there are OpenSource enemies that spread a fairy tale about an alleged licensing issue. The only problem with integrating ZFS into Linux is that the VFS interface from Linux is inferior to the one from OpenSolaris and as a result, there is a need to first implement missing interfaces. For no particular reason, and with no explanation. mark
