Faint background noise/crackle on FXS port on TDM400P
Hi, I have had this issues for ages but have ignored it, but my handsets
get faint background crackle on the FXS port. When I connect the handset
directly into my PSTN, it goes away complete, so I am generating this from
somewhere in my asterisk box. I get it immediately when the phone goes
off-hook and it stays through the dialing and call progress.
I can't think of any other devices

Centos 5.4 on Acer Aspire One
I currently have my Acer Aspire One netbook set up with Fedora 11. I
would like to change it over to Centos 5.4 if I can.
I downloaded the Centos 5.4 i386 livecd image and made a bootable USB
flash drive out of it. Unfortunately, when I boot off of that flash
drive, Grub (I guess) immediately turns the screen entirely white. If I
hit a key I can faintly see the outline of "Press tab to

image() generates many border lines in pdf, not on screen (quartz) - R 2.9.1 GUI 1.28 Tiger build 32-bit (5444) - OS X 10.5.8
Dear all,
I have invested substantial amount of work in a complicated, yet on
screen perfect looking graph that uses image(). Unfortunately saving it
as pdf (or quartz.save at high resolution) all generate very disturbing
border lines around each small rectangle that image() has drawn. While
using Preview it helps to turn off antialiasing to make those faint
lines disappear on screen

Regression slope confidence interval
Hi list,
is there any direct way to obtain confidence intervals for the regression
slope from lm, predict.lm or the like?
(If not, is there any reason? This is also missing in some other statistics
softwares, and I thought this would be quite a standard application.)
I know that it's easy to implement but it's for
explanation to people who faint if they have to do their own
programming...

Loud pop at the end of messages causing level problems
Hi everyone, I've set up a little Asterisk system with a Digium TDM400P and
everything works splendidly except for the messages callers leave. Every
message that a caller leaves is very faint. I've already set volgain=6.0 in
voicemail.conf, and that seems better, but to be at a good volume I estimate
I may need to go up to 40.0. Is that reasonable?
One interesting artifact is that at

Unsightly lines from x*y grid in levelplot with Postscript
When I generate levelplot figures with Postscript, the lines from
the underlying grid (i.e., the x and y in z ~ x* y)
show up as faint white lines in the output. If I have a dense grid,
the lines wash out the contour colors. I can avoid the problem if
I use png instead, but that brings up other problems. Any
ideas for how I can get Postscript to not show those lines around
the cells?

Software E.C. Along with Tellabs
Since putting my Tellabs EC into place around 2 weeks ago, the echo
problem has almost been eliminated. Reports of some very faint echo,
but everybody is happy.
My question is, if I were to also turn on the Asterisk Software EC,
would this remove any residual echo that may make it past the Tellabs
Hardware EC.
Thanks,
Doug

Verisign Payflow Scripts
Here''s a link to the Verisign scripts we used... We customized ours a bit
but this will get you going.
Graciously provided by Jon at Slantwise Design and posted with permission
(http://www.slantwisedesign.com), these may make it into some other format
someday (gem? Plug in?).
Anyway, of course, no warranty with this code, use at your own risk and
really no support - you''ll have

Failure in RTP streaming
hi,
I use the oh323 driver to answer H323 calls.
The connection is set up normally.
In my extensions.conf file I use:
exten => s,1,Answer
exten => s,2,Playback(demo-instruct)
exten => s,3,Hangup
So that when a call is answered i get:
*CLI> -- Executing Answer("H323/ip$10.0.3.23:32782/6502", "") in new
stack

selinux getsebool request
Out of faint curiosity, how do we push change requests upstream to RHEL?
I'm using puppet to automate systems, including the application of
SELinux policy. While setsebool -P is non-damaging to repeat, it is time
consuming -- taking about 45 seconds per execution to process the
existing policy and re-commit to disk.
I'd like a simple ability to put an unless in the execution of

Random Intermittent Noise for SIP to FX0 calls plus echo
Dear group,
Was wondering if anyone out there has had the experience I have been
having. In reading recent posts on echo cancellation, I think there
is....
We recently cut over the Asterisk and are configured with 5 FXS and 2
FXO ports to the PSTN via 2 TDM400P's and 5 SIP phones on our local
network. I have set up echo cancellation with 800ms echo training. I do
not have

Re: High pitched whine with Speex
When I just copy the microphone input buffer to the output buffer the
sound plays OK. But if I encode and decode the buffer through Speex I
get a high pitched constant tone in the background. I actually do hear
my voice speaking when I talk, but it's faint and much quieter than the
tone.
Here's what my data looks like:
Input is the first 5 floats of each input buffer.
Output is

[LLVMdev] Setting up new project
Try using the --with-llvmsrc and --with-llvmobj options to explicitly set the locations of your LLVM source tree and object tree, respectively. I faintly recall seeing this error and seem to recall using these options to work around it.

flicker in IE with SlideDown/SlideUp
The flicker I am seeing in IE is really really bad with SlideDown/SlideUp.
The element I am sliding is a div that contains a table. The tables are
stacked on top of each other so that the presentation actually appears as a
single table.
When I SlideDown, the toggled element flashed into view then disappears
before sliding down. On SlideUp it slides up then flashes into view for a

GEP with a null pointer base
Chris,
nice segue to Swift ! :-), but...
The question is what should LLVM do with UB in general, saying that
we are going to change one specific idiom from undefined to defined glosses
over the real question: why should we ever optimize / delete any UB at all ?
This “depressing and faintly terrifying thing” as you call it, should be viewed not as
an opportunity for optimization, but

UK X100P installation help
Hi,
I've got the latest asterisk@home setup running with SIP. I've been
trying to tie it in with the PSTN off and on for a while with no
success. I gave up on ISDN and purchased 2 x100p cards from x100p.com.
I've got the card installed, the machine can see it.
The problems I have at the moment are
First time I start up the drivers and asterisk, I can call the pstn

Problem in encoding/decoding speech in Win CE
Hi,
I am trying to encode raw wave data stored in a buffer using the
Speex API (The raw wave data is created using the waveIn* functions -
probably irrelevant information here).
It is a 5 second clip, 16bits/sample, 8000Hz mono (which gives a
buffer size of 80kb for the wave data).
I have followed the exact procedure found in the manual available
from the web site, except that
