What causes the error report:

to arise in the rms function lrm?

But both the dependent and the independent variable seem fine...

Faint background noise/crackle on FXS port on TDM400P
Hi, I have had this issues for ages but have ignored it, but my handsets
get faint background crackle on the FXS port. When I connect the handset
directly into my PSTN, it goes away complete, so I am generating this from
somewhere in my asterisk box. I get it immediately when the phone goes
off-hook and it stays through the dialing and call progress.
I can't think of any...

Centos 5.4 on Acer Aspire One

would like to change it over to Centos 5.4 if I can.
I downloaded the Centos 5.4 i386 livecd image and made a bootable USB
flash drive out of it. Unfortunately, when I boot off of that flash
drive, Grub (I guess) immediately turns the screen entirely white. If I
hit a key I can faintly see the outline of "Press tab to change options"
or words to that effect. (It's very faint and hard to read against the
white background.) That bit of text rapidly scrolls off of the top of
the screen, so I assume that the rest of the boot-up messages are being
printed.

image() generates many border lines in pdf, not on screen (quartz) - R 2.9.1 GUI 1.28 Tiger build 32-bit (5444) - OS X 10.5.8

as pdf (or quartz.save at high resolution) all generate very disturbing
border lines around each small rectangle that image() has drawn. While
using Preview it helps to turn off antialiasing to make those faint
lines disappear on screen

Regression slope confidence interval

(If not, is there any reason? This is also missing in some other statistics
softwares, and I thought this would be quite a standard application.)
I know that it's easy to implement but it's for

Loud pop at the end of messages causing level problems
Hi everyone, I've set up a little Asterisk system with a Digium TDM400P and
everything works splendidly except for the messages callers leave. Every
message that a caller leaves is very faint. I've already set volgain=6.0 in
voicemail.conf, and that seems better, but to be at a good volume I estimate
I may need to go up to 40.0. Is that reasonable?
One interesting artifact is that at the end of every message, there is a

Unsightly lines from x*y grid in levelplot with Postscript
When I generate levelplot figures with Postscript, the lines from
the underlying grid (i.e., the x and y in z ~ x* y)
show up as faint white lines in the output. If I have a dense grid,
the lines wash out the contour colors. I can avoid the problem if
I use png instead, but that brings up other problems. Any
ideas for how I can get Postscript to not show those lines around
the cells?

Software E.C. Along with Tellabs
Since putting my Tellabs EC into place around 2 weeks ago, the echo
problem has almost been eliminated. Reports of some very faint echo,
but everybody is happy.
My question is, if I were to also turn on the Asterisk Software EC,
would this remove any residual echo that may make it past the Tellabs
Hardware EC.

Failure in RTP streaming

But no RTP stream comes out of the asterisk (I tcpdumped to be sure).
My question is:
1/Is there a way to explain this ? (lack of configuration, compilation
options)
if not,
2/ Is there a way to investigate deeper in order to understand where
does the RTP stream faint inside Asterisk ?

Random Intermittent Noise for SIP to FX0 calls plus echo

a 20 minute call, interference occurs in the ear of the SIP phone user.
The other side (PSTN caller) of the conversation may hear a few short
(half second) breaks in the conversation. The characteristics of the
interference in the SIP phone user is some in-band MF tones which may
start out faint and get louder which are broken up them selves to make a
cracking noise. There may be some momentary echo of my voice when this
happens also. This may last for about 3 seconds and then the
conversation is clear.
We don't get this when using Analog phones on an FXS port nor for SIP
to SIP conv...

Re: High pitched whine with Speex
When I just copy the microphone input buffer to the output buffer the
sound plays OK. But if I encode and decode the buffer through Speex I
get a high pitched constant tone in the background. I actually do hear
my voice speaking when I talk, but it's faint and much quieter than the
tone.
Here's what my data looks like:
Input is the first 5 floats of each input buffer.
Output is after Speex runs on it.
Input: 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 -0.000
Out: -0.029 -0.008 0.020 0.018 -0.001
Input: 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000

[LLVMdev] Setting up new project
Try using the --with-llvmsrc and --with-llvmobj options to explicitly set the locations of your LLVM source tree and object tree, respectively. I faintly recall seeing this error and seem to recall using these options to work around it.

flicker in IE with SlideDown/SlideUp
...wn, the toggled element flashed into view then disappears
before sliding down. On SlideUp it slides up then flashes into view for a
split second again.
I looked in the archives and tried modifying the Slide functions as was
suggested but it didn''t make a difference.
In Firefox I get a faint flicker now and then but nothing really bad. In IE
it''s just terrible.

The question is what should LLVM do with UB in general, saying that
we are going to change one specific idiom from undefined to defined glosses
over the real question: why should we ever optimize / delete any UB at all ?
This “depressing and faintly terrifying thing” as you call it, should be viewed not as
an opportunity for optimization, but rather as the source of bugs that need to be
warned about at the very least.
The current action is to delete UB (without warning), is that really right ?

UK X100P installation help

I've got the card installed, the machine can see it.
The problems I have at the moment are
First time I start up the drivers and asterisk, I can call the pstn
number. The call is detected, the SIP phone rings, you can pick up the
call, but there is nothing but a faint noise. After that, if you try to
call the number again, it's engaged, as if the x100 P has not dropped
the line, though watching the asterisk log in real time it says it has.
I've looked all over the web for some detailed instructions, but most
just mirror what I've already done.

Problem in encoding/decoding speech in Win CE
...he speex stream into
stdout, I am writing it onto a file from where I read later to decode.
It decodes to 80kb (as expected). While I can reproduce tapping
sounds (by banging a pen on a desk), I am unable to reproduce voice - in
which case I hear some junk. Also, the tapping sounds are quite faint.
Am I doing something wrong, or is there a problem with the Win CE
libraries ?
