Can asterisk PRI/BRI support redirect calls
...cpe channel => 1-15,17-31 Is this how DAHDISendCallreroutingFacility is expected to be setup? After dialing into the E1 and hearing 'connecting' the result was an immediate hangup as the transfer was started, the only a warning regarding 'reason' and defaulting to unknown. The Facilty messaqge sent to the Jtec was 86 bytes long, is there a way to construct a minimal facilty message, as the Jtec debug, although I don't have it tonight, reported an error with one of the 'message types' in the facility message. I have the option of swapping out the QSIG card in the Jte...

R Reference Card and other help (especially useful for Newbies)
Hi all: Newbies (and others!) may find useful the R Reference Card made available by Tom Short and Rpad at http://www.rpad.org/Rpad/Rpad-refcard.pdf or through the "Contributed" link on CRAN (where some other reference cards are also linked). It categorizes and organizes a bunch of R's basic, most used functions so that they can be easily found. For example, paste() is

Domain unavaliable
...we run in our research lab. I'd also like to say that I have had so few problems that I probably haven't written about one in 3 years. With that being said, I'm having problems with my Samba PDC. I'm running Samba 2.2.8a on a Solaris 8 box. We have recently moved our lab from one facilty to another, which forced us to change all of our system names and IP's. Luckily, only the domain part of the name changed, as well as the IP's. I updated the smb.conf to reflect the new subnet and IP's. However, I have recently noticed that people are getting alot of "Domain LAB...

This may or maynot be patentable, as someone like X mart may have already built a facilty locating algorithm., but no framework exists to my knowledge. To the best of my knowledge there are many tools that help you locate a site, but no framework as such. <http://feeds.feedburner.com/~a/DecisionStats?a=7JzR3W> You are subscribed to email updates from DecisionStats<http://www...

how to write in tcng this PPPoE filter?
...ow to transform this into TCNG code? tc filter add dev ${DEVICE} parent 1: protocol all u32 \ match u16 0x8864 0xFFFF at -2 flowid 1:${ID} 8864 is the PPP session ethernet protocol the above code is used to shape all PPPoE traffic on the same device so this way i can make use of the borrowing facilty which is not given by PPPoE. PPPoE gives me each time a device => each device is an independent device and an independent queue => no borrowing at all. thanks.

savehistory in OSX version
Running Version 2.6.0 GUI 1.21. Generally, I enjoy working with the OSX GUI, which has some very pleasant features. Kudos to the developers! There is a nice history panel which slides out of the Console window. The buttons on the panel work as expected. I am puzzled by the behavior of history() and savehistory() run from the Console window. I would think that these functions would view and

Compression of largish expression array files in the DAAGbio/inst/doc directory?
The inst/doc directory of the DAAG package has 6 files coral551.spot, ... that are around 0.85 MB each. It would be useful to be able to zip then, but that as matters stand interferes with the use of the Sweave file that uses them to demonstrate input of expression array data that is in the "spot" format. They do not automatically get unzipped when required. I have checked that

Parallel makes
Now multi-core machines are more widely available, we have gotten to stress-test the parallel building capabilities of R and of packages. The current Windows and Mac build machines are both 8-core and I test on an 8-core machine. These are all fairly recent changes of hardware and the following applies only to R-devel, the version to become 2.9.0 next month. Parallel builds of R under

removing daylight savings in R
Hi all, I've been having some trouble with times in regards to daylight savings in R version 2.8.1. I have an ORACLE database that R is importing data in from, for the 2am and 2:30am time intervals for the dates that daylight savings starts the times are getting read as NA values into R. I'm also finding that if I open a R workspace from version 6.2.2,the datetimes are

Understanding backup-dir semantics
...ing the windows disk as a file share an using cp to copy the data over. This is not very satisfactory I would like to set up my backup so that I can a) restore a disk image for most of the machine a) have an immediate backup of the "My Documents" directory for all users b) provide a facilty where I can collect files from these directories for all users and ultimately copy them to CD-R as long term archive. Sometime in the past I set this machine up with rsync using cygwin with the following command line rsync -a --delete --exclude='/WINDOWS/WIN386.SWP' /* roo::pooh/ where...

VoIP extn number planning
Looking for some advanced thoughts relative to exten number assignments. We're in the planning stage for rolling out asterisk at multiple small US telco/isp operations. Their typical voip customer has had their pstn line for a looooong time and wants to keep the pstn line and number, but add voip to their existing home/soho arrangement. One approach (from a planning perspective) is to

R: log-normal distribution and shapiro test
Hi, from what you're writing: "The logaritmic transformation "shapiro.test(log10(y))" says: W=0.9773, p-value= 2.512e-05." it seems the log-values are not distributed normally and so original data are not distributed like a log-normal: the p-value is extremally small! Other tests for normality are available in package: nortest compare the log-transformation of your ecdf

R-beta: SEs for one-param MLE in R?
Simple-mindedly I tried getting MLE and SE for one-parameter model in the same way as for multi-param models. out<-nlm(fn,p=c(2),hessian=T) But sqrt(diag(solve(out$hessian))) gives the answer 1. The Hessian has only one entry, not really a matrix. diag(x) gives 1 if x is just a single number. Is this what I should be doing to get SE for MLE? sqrt(solve(out$hessian)) Thanks very much for
