Samba Share Mounts with Java
Hello,
I am developing a Java application that requires me to read from and write to a samba share. When developing in a windows environment this was not a problem. I mounted the share as "M:/", built a path to a file, checked if the file exists using the Java function file.exists(), and went on my merry way. Now I am developing in a Linux environment(SuSE 10). I mount the samba

can distinguish package from function.
The purpose of consistent editing is surely to provide the affordances
that save us from needing extra documentation, as per Donald Norman's
excellent discussions on Design of Everyday Things, or Turn Signals are
the Facial Expressions of Automobiles. Changing the name of a function
in a case-sensitive computing language may not be a bug, but it is
asking for trouble.

random typing over text
Dear R,
When I'm writing script I probably hit accidently some hot key and then the
text in script is being overwritten
by subsequent typing. Please what is the hot key or how can I disable it?

RandomForest vs. bayes & svm classification performance
Hi
This is a question regarding classification performance using different methods.
So far I've tried NaiveBayes (klaR package), svm (e1071) package and
randomForest (randomForest). What has puzzled me is that randomForest seems to
perform far better (32% classification error) than svm and NaiveBayes, which
have similar classification errors (45%, 48% respectively). A similar
difference in

pseudo-R2 or GOF for regression trees?
Hello,
Is there an accepted way to convey, for regression trees, something
akin to R-squared?
I'm developing regression trees for a continuous y variable and I'd
like to say how well they are doing. In particular, I'm analyzing the
results of a simulation model having highly non-linear behavior, and
asking what characteristics of the inputs are related to a particular

[cfe-dev] FYI: Landing the initial draft for an LLVM Code of Conduct
I don’t know what you meant to imply by “residual clause” — if you meant “it’s not particularly important”, then I suggest it is left out entirely. Apparently at least a few of us have interpreted it to say “the committee reserves the right to kick you out for any behaviour that violates our standards which you exhibit anywhere, even if it is completely unrelated to the llvm community”.

[cfe-dev] FYI: Landing the initial draft for an LLVM Code of Conduct
That's just a residual clause.
It's not sanely possible to enumerate all the possibilities here (IE if you
stalk and murder someone in the llvm community, you are going to get kicked
out of the community, regardless of if you did it in a controlled space)
I mean, i'm subject to legal ethics rules that are very similar, and those
could get me kicked out of an entire profession :)

zfs list improvements?
To improve the performance of scripts that manipulate zfs snapshots and the zfs snapshot service in perticular there needs to be a way to list all the snapshots for a given object and only the snapshots for that object.
There are two RFEs filed that cover this:
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6352014 :
''zfs list'' should have an option to only present direct
