freeradius + NTLM + samba AD 4.5.x
Also I just facepalmed, as I double checked smb.conf right after sending mail, and in samba 4.7 there are new options available for "ntlm auth", as stated in docs: |mschapv2-and-ntlmv2-only| - Only allow NTLMv1 when the client promises that it is providing MSCHAPv2 authentication (such as the |ntlm_auth| to...

Samba 4 ADDC. Dynamic DNS updates from Windows clients.
I'm currently testing samba 4, and I've come across a problem which I can't seem to find an answer for. I have one samba 4 ADDC running on a Centos 6 container, compiled from the latest stable source release and setup as per the samba wiki. I'm running the internal DNS server. DHCP is provided to the network by an openwrt router. The router is configured to hand out the DNS

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: POST the card before GPIO initialization
Otherwise my card (nv92) never resumes from suspend to ram, hanging on nv_mask in nv50_gpio_drive. Before rework, initialization was done only from POST, so this patch restores previous behaviour. Signed-off-by: Marcin Slusarz <marcin.slusarz at gmail.com> --- Let me tell you little story about this patch... It took me ~week to figure it out. 1) I bisected it to "drm/nouveau/gpio:

Re: HugePages - can't start guest that requires them
*facepalm* Now that I'm re-reading the documentation it's obvious that <page/> and @nodeset are for the guest, "This tells the hypervisor that the guest should have its memory allocated using hugepages instead of the normal native page size." Pretty clear there. Thank you SO much for the guidance, I'll return to my tweaking. I'll report back here with my results.

thunderbird issues
Just updated t-bird, and once again, it wants to open a completely new browser, other than using the running one. I started searching, and found something about editing the config, and for the first one of the two they said to change, I find this: network.protocol-handler.app.https;/usr/lib64/thunderbird-3.1/open-browser.sh %s a) there's only /usr/lib64/thunderbird, and I'm on

Now there's a facepalm moment. ;-) Thank you, with a modified 'require' statement things are working for me. I see

Weird behaviour of ifcfg scripts
Hi, I accidentally found that the existence of a file e.g. named ifcfg-eth1:1 put in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ leads to the appropriate interface being created even with the option 'ONBOOT' set to 'no': DEVICE="eth1:1" BOOTPROTO="static" NM_CONTROLLED="no" ONBOOT="no" TYPE="Ethernet" IPADDR=12.34.56.78

choppy motion/rectangles
Greetings.! In rapid action frames, I see lots of small rectangles which many together render a choppy sense of motion. I've attached screenshots in attempts to convey what I mean: http://24.16.26.121/screenshots/images/1253914810.jpg http://24.16.26.121/screenshots/images/1253914788.jpg I understand the lack of h/w acceleration and such, but I feel this can go away. If I am at all

Wrath of the Lich King
I just installed Ubuntu for the first time yesterday, so I'm still pretty much a total noob. I installed Wine and got the other programs that I needed. Everything went smoothly. I installed World of Warcraft and Burning Crusade. Those installed fine. When I put in the WotLK disc, however, it says, "Access Denied." I also tried downloading it from the WoW website. It downloaded for

"Unwilling to Perform" UNIX Attributes
Hi, I'm running Samba 4.0.8, on FreeBSD 9.2, from operating system packages, as a DC. I have a BDC, running the same. I'm using a Windows 7 workstation with "Active Directory Users and Computers" snap-in to manage usernames, passwords, etc. The workstation is part of the domain, and I'm logged on as Administrator in the domain. I can create groups and add members to them

*very* ugly mdadm issue
We have a machine that's a distro mirror - a *lot* of data, not just CentOS. We had the data on /dev/sdc. I added another drive, /dev/sdd, and created that as /dev/md4, with --missing, made an ext4 filesystem on it, and rsync'd everything from /dev/sdc. Note that we did this on *raw*, unpartitioned drives (not my idea). I then umounted /dev/sdc, and mounted /dev/md4, and it looked fine; I

Re: HugePages - can't start guest that requires them
First I'll quickly summarize my understanding of how to configure numa... In "//memoryBacking/hugepages/page[@nodeset]" I am telling libvirt to use hugepages for the guest, and to get those hugepages from a particular host NUMA node. In "//numatune/memory[@nodeset]" I am telling libvirt to pin the memory allocation to the guest from a particular host numa node. In

[LLVMdev] MachineOperand SubReg
I'm working on the post-regalloc dataflow engine I mentioned yesterday. Currently I only need to track register operands. A MachineOperand has both a getReg() and a getSubReg() interface. For a physical register operand, is getReg() guaranteed to be the "most super" register with getSubReg() providing the specific subregister information for the operand? If so then for my current

Almost there with Sieve
Hi all, Dovecot - 2.2.35 Pigeonhole - 0.4.23 I've recently moved mail filtering from local filtering (using Thunderbird) to Sieve.? I've got filtering into folders and flagging emails working fine, but for possibly one tiny glitch. When specifying folders to filter into I have to use the format 'INBOX/Folder name' instead of just 'Folder name'.? Can this be corrected??
