Problems running Braid with Gecko
Hi all. First time posting here. I first did a search around the forums, but didn't find something similar to my problem. I'm trying to run Braid full version on openSUSe using Wine and Gecko (Doors has been shutdown since a while, what a shame... And Gecko is the default configurator Suse installs). Firstly Wine crashed with an error message due to an "unexpected error", then I

Run 32 bit apps on Wine x64?
Hi. I installed Wine and tried to run Briad game on a laptop with openSUSE 11.3 x64. It throws me the message: Trying to load PE image for unsupported architecture (AMD-64) err:seh:raise_exception Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception. Which means Wine x64 is not able to run 32 bit apps, and I imagined it. I installed Wine through Yast, selecting the packages

Trouble installing packages with Winetricks
Hi all. I know I posted a similar topic before, but I think it's necessary to re-formulate the problem since it has taken a different wider focus. I'm trying to make some of my Windows apps to work on Linux which used to work quite well with Wine back when I had openSUSE 11.1 last year. Right now I'm focusing in one called DBabble. Back in 11.1 I used Wine Doors to download libraries

Multisim 10.0.1 licenses problem
There was a similar topic of mine regarding this, but I think it got lost or forgotten. Anyway, my question is now clearer, I guess. I'm trying to get Multisim 10.0.1 to work with Wine, already updated to 1.3.7. I first installed it (demo version) on Windows, then copied the entire National Instruments to my /home directory, and installed missing libraries and jet40 from Winetricks. When I

Anyone has any kind of trouble with Nvidia driver 260.19?
I read in openSUSE forums that this new driver was giving several issues on Linux, especially openSUSE (i.e. some native games were broken, problems with KDE desktop and other kind of bugs). I updated my Nvidia driver before knowing this and now I'm regreting it, even though my very few tests went normal (Windows games such as Braid, American McGee's Alice and some emulators under Wine ran

Installing latest Wine on Debian
I installed Wine using the Lamaresh repo for Debian, but unlike openSUSE's repos, I found out that it installs and old version: 1.1.42. Is there some repo for Debian where I can install latest version from? Or should I better try building it from source? Sorry if it's a silly question. Thanks.

No$Zoomer not recognizing NDS ROMs
I'm trying to run No$Zoomer, kind of an addition for GBA/NDS emulator No$GBA, that allows to play on higher screen. According to a report in the AppDB (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=18574) someone seemingly managed to get it working by editing the .ini file. However, and since first time I tried to run it, Zoomer executes but it doesn't recognize the

Nintendo DS emulator randomly crashing
Hi. After playing NO$Zoomer (the emulator's name) for some time I'm getting random crashes that come out of the blue, which are not so usual, but since the emulator doesn't support savestates they're annoying. I'm playing and suddenly it freezes and, after aprox 2 minutes it says the program found a problem and must close (crash). Here's the Wine log: Code:

Initial errors when running winecfg for first time
Hi all. Long time without using Wine, my previous Linux installation got broken and waited for next official release. Really feel like a newbie again. Now I'm using openSUSE 12.1 x86_64 kernel 3.1.0-1.2. Sorry if it's newbie question, but I just installed latest Wine version, ran winecfg for first time to create default prefix, and although it succeeded, I got some errors. Complete

EPSXE under WINE.
Hello. This thread is to help anyone having problems with using EPSXE psx emulator in WINE. EPSXE can work in WINE, only if you install directx in WINE. WINE alone does not have directx installed with it but EPSXE requires directx to function. You would need to install directx using any game which has "Install DirectX" or something similar. The redist packages for directx found online

About Wine Doors missing
Hi again. Well, it's been a few days since I updated to openSUSE 11.3 and I was installing Wine and Wine Doors to get my Windows applications to work, suddenly realizing that Doors was not working anymore and the website was shutdown since July 2010. Doors did wonderful with all my apps back in openSUSE 11.1 unlike Gecko, which gives me lots of trouble with most of the apps (they simply

DBabble issue oddly solved
Hi all. There's a Windows application called DBabble which I talked about in a previous (and kind of annoying, I recognize it) thread some time ago. http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=9788 I was trying 2 Enlightenment-based distros, Elive and Bodhi Linux, on an old PC. I realized Elive has Wine installed by default, so I decided to give the old issue a try without expecting different

Wine on different distributions
After trying several Windows apps with Wine on Linux, if I haven't misunderstood, I've learned that Wine may differ in compatibility depending on what distribution I'm using. I have seen one application working on a certain distro while on another one it crashes, provided I'm using same Wine version (usually latest one) and installing the same application the normal way. But then

Multisim not installing
Hi. Now I'm trying to install Multisim, and tried with both 10.1 and 11.0 with the same errors. Just when executing the installer it throws an error message regarding something like "error msi 1623",but the Wine log is: Code: User at linux-e9or:~/Downloads/Multisim 10> wine setup.exe fixme:volume:GetVolumePathNameW (L"Z:\\home\\User\\Downloads\\Multisim

Adobe Director issues
Hi again. I'm trying to run Adobe Director 11.5, I made a search and it's not in the AppDB. I knew beforehand it almost obviously would not work before doing some tweaks. However, I take a look at the console's log, and I have no clue about it. Code: User at linux-e9or:~/Downloads/AdobeDirector115> WINEPREFIX=~/director wine Setup.exe fixme:console:AttachConsole stub ffffffff
