MyScribe not working
Hello,
I am using Ubuntu v8.10, WINE v1.0.1, and MyScribe v'?'. I am trying to get MyScribe to work through WINE. The install process works. After install and start, program main window loads fine. Once I try to login it exits.
I searched Ubuntu Forms but found no solutions, although I found other people who have had problems. Apparently there is a Linux version of MyScribe, but

Patches for CVE-2024-27322
Dear R-core,
I just received notification of CVE-2024-27322 [1] in RedHat's Bugzilla. We
updated R to v4.4.0 in Fedora rawhide, F40, EPEL9 and EPEL8, so no problem
there. However, F38 and F39 will stay at v4.3.3, and I was wondering if
there's a specific patch available, or if you could point me to the commits
that fixed the issue, so that we can cherry-pick them for F38 and F39.
Thanks.

RStudio package maintenance moved to Copr
...RStudio last week (v2024.09.0+375), support for
Qt builds has been removed. This means that we can no longer maintain
RStudio packages in the official Fedora repositories, because the necessary
Electron component is missing. RStudio is supported in the official
repositories up to v2024.04.2+764 and F40, and has been retired from newer
branches.
Consequently, I moved maintenance to Fedora Copr, where I have more
flexibility. You can find an up-to-date Electron build in the iucar/rstudio
Copr repository [1], available for F39 and later, for x86_64 and aarch64.

I raised it on the fedora users list and then created
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2267022
and it seems to progress from there.
I raised it on Nut-upsuser last as I thought they added this file.
It was also in f40 but the two were in /usr/bin vs /usr/sbin and the f42 merge led to this conflict now.

So you are saying that the driver is not part of nut, and it is fedora that included it in the package,
but in the wrong way/place.

I'm not siding with anybody here, but there is some glaring
mis-information in this thread.

P.s. I do work with a lot of un-pro (claimed) dell equipment, but also
hp9000, sun enterprise 10k, old as/400 f40, dec alpha, and yes, pix and
netscreen. They all quit at some point!

smbd startup error
Re problem with libldap.a running Samba 3.x.x.x under AIX 5.1:
I have found that Samba 3.0.0 & 3.0.4 & 3.0.10 all fail; with the same
error on a p-series 615.
I did get 3.0.0 running on a 7025-F40 using :
LIBPATH=/usr/local/lib /usr/local/samba/sbin/smbd -D -s
/usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf
to force aix 5.1 to use the Samba /usr/local/lib/libiconv.a.
I had to go back to Samba 2.2.8a (binary downloaded from
http://aixpdslib.seas.ucla.edu/packages/samba.html ) to get Samba
working o...

This patch accelerate encoding time about 10%. Why not include in 1.1.2?

zpool kernel panics.
Hi Folks,
I''ve got a 3.9 Tb zpool, and it is casing kernel panics on my Solaris
10 280r (SPARC) server.
The message I get on panic is this:
panic[cpu1]/thread=2a100a95cc0: zfs: freeing free segment
(offset=423713792 size=1024)
This seems to come about when the zpool is being used or being
scrubbed - about twice a day at the moment. After the reboot, the
scrub seems to have
