VERY cool add-on request.
I would like to have the ability to execute a command on a folder based on a user doing something like copying a message to that folder. This could be accomplished with a config file directive. For example, this would be EXTREMEMLY useful as a spam learning hook. Take a scenario where each user has their own spamassassin bayes database, and you want to give the users the ability to train their own database based on what they think is SPAM. It would be nice to give all the users a folder called Spam, and tell them to just cop...

Sip Trunking
Hi list, I have to connect two asterisk box, in this scenario: [asterisk1]----sip----[asterisk2]----PSTN I must use sip, cos we'll use cisco rtp header-compression to save bandwidth. Could you tell me the best way to send calls from asterisk1 to asterisk2, since I cannot use IAX trunking? Thanks in advance Eduardo

Density estimation with monotonic constaints
Hi All, I have a sample x={x1,x2,..,xn} fom a distribution with density f. I wish to estimate the density. I know a priori that the density is monotonically decreasing. Is there a way to do this in R? Thanks Debayan

Voicetronix Openswitch/6
...terisk server. The SIP phones are working properly to dial one another, but I can't seem to get a call to go out to the PSTN through the voicetronix, and I similarly can't get incoming calls to the lines hooked up to the voicetronix to pick up and be handled by Asterisk. I have tried extrememly simple dial rules in extensions.conf to test this, such as "exten => 200,1,Dial(vpb/g1/411)" without success. Asterisk claims to be ringing on one of the vpb channels, but it rings and rings - it doesn't seem to connect to an actual outside line. All lines have been tested wit...

rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(140)
This is an extrememly old post, so it might not be of any use anymore. I encountered this same error, and the problem ended up being a full filesystem (my destination filled up before completion). rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(140) Dave Dykstra dwd at bell-labs.com <mailto:rsy...

Google Sketchup 6.x works, but only with xserver-xgl.
...NNECT_RETRIES: STUB fixme:wininet:INET_QueryOptionHelper INTERNET_OPTION_CONNECTED_STATE: semi-stub fixme:wininet:INET_QueryOptionHelper INTERNET_OPTION_CONNECTED_STATE: semi-stub When I install the xserver-xgl package I get near full functionality (workspace drawn flawlessly), but the system is extrememly slow in general so naturally this affects Sketchup as well. Googling around I have found out that the performance hit I experience with xserver-xgl is expected and that I shouldn't bother with this when using an intel gpu. Is this a wine problem at all or is it related to something else? If yo...

USA BRI -- any hope at all?
Folks -- First, apologies for not lurking for weeks or months to get the culture of the list. I read the recent post about improvement to the quality of posts with some amusement and full agreement. The problem is a big and very real one. I hope I'm not deepening it. But my question isn't explicitly asked with this subject line or definitively answered in the archives -- that I have

DOS style 8.3 filename mangling issues??!
...t plain worked without a single hassle. Hell, I was expecting to have to enter usernames and passwords on the clients again to set them up, and I was denied even THAT "privilege" :))) It handed off the requests transparently as it would for any "real" NT server. Performance is extrememly good. While it's difficult to directly compare machine to machine, etc.... There's no question samba is at least as fast as NT's file server, but in looking at network utilisation and throughput, I'd daresay Linux (with its much more intelligent usage of memory, buffering, caching...

appending and merging data frames
I know that the basic approach to append or merge data frames is using the rbind and merge commands. However, if I understand things correctly, for both commands one needs to do quite some additional programming to get e.g. behavior as with the Stata append and morge commands or to achieve some things which I think users need quite frequently. E.g. for appending, the data frame must have

The best motherboard for a home ZFS fileserver
I''m a fan of ZFS since I''ve read about it last year. Now I''m on the way to build a home fileserver and I''m thinking to go with Opensolaris and eventually ZFS!! Apart from the other components, the main problem is to choose the motherboard. The offer is incredibly high and I''m lost. Minimum requisites should be: - working well with Open Solaris ;-) -
