problem with installation from source on linux and solaris
...ary that gets dropped
into /usr/local/R-1.1.1/bin. But when I try to run it, I get a text
message "welcome to R yada yada yada" and then it quite by saying that it
cannot access the base package.
And then last night on a different RH 6.2 linux box, using the SRPMS, my
husband (sys admin extraordinaire) tried making a new R rpm for me, but it
failed because it couldn't find one file (man/R.1 or something?) during
the rpm build.
I'd welcome any insights...

Parallel Worlds
...vaScript, one wonders if
it''s possible to at least use inspiration from one in developing the
other.
For instance, Flash has the Movieclip Tweening Prototypes, at http://
laco.wz.cz/tween/ which provide many similar effects to what we''re
talking about here. Local developer extraordinaire Moses Gunesch has
written a Fuse Kit that allows easy, object-oriented sequencing of
these tweens... you can also run them in parallel. See http://
www.mosessupposes.com/Fuse/index.html for details.
Now obviously you can''t run ActionScript in a JavaScript environment,

So It appears to me that some security setting is not getting setup for

some of you kind readers could help me out with this one.

Microsoft and roving profile Outlook woes. Fixed.
Hi,
One for the archives:
Problem:
Microsoft Outlook Express client takes a woefully gruesomely long time
to start when using roving profiles on a Samba share.
Fix:
Turn off oplocks on the share.
Eg:
[netlogon]
writeable = yes
browseable = yes
oplocks = no
...
...
Eddie.
