[rfc] [patch] 32/64-bit hypercall interface revisited
Last year we had a discussion[1] about how the hypercall ABI
unfortunately contains fields that change width between 32- and 64-bit
builds. This is a huge problem as we come up on the python management
stack for ppc64, since the distributions ship 32-bit python. A 32-bit
python/libxc cannot currently manage a 64-bit hypervisor.
I had a patch but was unable to test it, and some other things were

[PATCH 0/3] xen: more portability patches
Hi Jeremy.
Here are the 3 patches for ia64/xen support.
The first one is just to move manage.c under drivers/xen.
This is trivial.
The second and third ones are for compilation fix on ia64.
You may want to postpone those 2 patches to make your merge task
easy as you said before.
thanks,

alloc_heap_pages is low efficient with more CPUs
I am confused with a problem:
I have a blade with 64 physical CPUs and 64G physical RAM, and defined only one VM with 1 CPU and 40G RAM.
For the first time I started the VM, it just took 3s, But for the second starting it took 30s.
After studied it by printing log, I have located a place in the hypervisor where cost too much time,
occupied 98% of the whole starting time.

PATCH: Hugepage support for Domains booting with 4KB pages
We have implemented hugepage support for guests in following manner
In
our implementation we added a parameter hugepage_num which is specified
in the config file of the DomU. It is the number of hugepages that the
guest is guaranteed to receive whenever the kernel asks for hugepage by
using its boot time parameter or reserving after booting (eg. Using echo
XX > /proc/sys/vm/nr_hugepages).

Xen 3.0 Status update
At OLS we had a couple of "Xen Mini Summit" sessions. Although there
weren''t any formal minutes, here''s a rough summary of what we
discussed/concluded.
Status as of 24 July 2005
=========================
Summary: We have a couple of annoying bugs, but things are coming
together nicely.
x86_32p (PAE 16GB) and x86_64 ports are close to being feature complete

xenpaging fixes for kernel and hypervisor
Patrick,
there following patches fix xenpaging for me.
Granttable handling is incomplete. If a page is gone, a GNTST_eagain
should be returned to the caller to inidcate the hypercall has to be
retried after a while, until the page is available again.
Please review.

[PATCH 00/50] ia64/xen take 3: ia64/xen domU paravirtualization
Hi. This patchset implements xen/ia64 domU support.
Qing He and Eddie Dong also has been woring on pv_ops so that
I want to discuss before going further and avoid duplicated work.
I suppose that Eddie will also post his own patch. So reviewing both
patches, we can reach to better pv_ops interface.
- I didn't changed the ia64 intrinsic paravirtulization abi from

Changes from take 5 are rebased to Linux 2.6.26-rc3,
bug fix ivt.S paravirtualization and multi entry point support.
I believe these patches can be applied to the linux ia64 repository.
