RAMDisk vs Extarnal server for recording
I'm having loads of problems with recordings, as in crappy audio quality and
lost pieces of the recordings. I've been searching for a solution and the
solutions i find on the interwebs include a ramdisk, for local recording, or
another machine, handling the recording. I guess the ramdisk would be the
"easy" solution and the external machine would be little harder to set up.

problem building R packages on RHEL 4 Linux with Intel compilers
I would like to build R and packages with the Intel 10.1 compilers in RHEL4.
Using the flags below, I can successfully build R using a vanilla
./configure, but when I install new packages they build with gcc. My
sysadmin suggested adding the flags to ./configure as illustrated below, but
then the R build blows up with the config tail output that follows far
below. It looks like gcc is still being

Hello Asterisk users.
We have a quadBRI card installed and have the following problem. When
starting Asterisk, the card is up and works perfect. But if no one uses
it for 2-3 hours, the card seems to change status. If I try making a
call from my sip phone to an extarnal telephone then asterisk registers
that I'm trying to call, i.e. it's not a bridged but a show channels
gives this output:
