Explenation of WRR parameters
Guys
Oppologies for the cross post.
I''ve been scouring the docs coming with the wrr patches and for the
life of me I can''t figure out why there are 8 parameters for each
class.
<snip>
weight1, min1, decr1, incr1,
weight2, min2, decr2, incr2
</snip>
According to the docs these parameters are handled the same way, but
looking at the example scripts there are

FW: [Bug 11241] different ids even when idmap.ldb copied. not abug..
Please read the reported bug and bjorn answer.. which does not help any to a solution of fix, or explenation.
But the big question now is, does someone somewhere know what bjorn is talking about.
i did search for "gencache" but no go here..
just from old documentation.

transparent proxy running in the local network
...!192.168.66.100
and there is a "local2local" user-chain made, but not(!) used by
shorewall, so I did:
iptables -I FORWARD 1 -i eth0 -o eth0 -j local2local
and that''s it !!!!
so now I am realy intrested to know, what you guys think about it??
because I don''t like the explenation from the shorewall-HP with
iproute2, and I thougt this way also should stand there ....

lm function
Hi,
I do not use R lenguage for programming, hence Im trying to understand how
are specified the models below. I been reading some webpages with
information about the notation in the "lm" function, but havent understand
exactly what does the ":" do. Can some one give me an explenation of the
models below so I can replicate the results in other program.
#common intercept
mod2<-lm(TS~log(BodyWt)+log(BodyWt):factor(D),data=sleep2)
#paralell lines
mod3<-lm(TS~factor(D)+log(BodyWt)-1,data=sleep2)
#general
mod4<-lm(TS~factor(D)+log(BodyWt):factor(D)-1,data=sleep2)

as gateway between a traditionnal pbx and an isdn network ( I'm in
France ). this to let people continue with their existing pbx + phones
and enjoy voip features ?

fixed point mec3
I've been working on a fixed point mec3 echo can. The old "mec3" which
crashed a lot of peoples machines because it was floating point in the
kernel is now available as "mec3-float.h". I'd appreciate any testing /
feedback on the new fixed point mec3 echo can. Thanks!

Cant get authenticated readwrite and guest readonly configured properly
Hi, I've spent the past 4 and a half hours trying to figure out how to
configure Samba the way I want, and I'm starting to wonder if what I
want to do is impossible. I've read the man page for smb.conf trying to
figure out what magic combination of options will work, and have scoured
as much Samba documentation as I can find looking for the right recipe,
but I'm having no luck.

[RFC PATCH] pci: prevent putting pcie devices into lower device states on certain intel bridges
Fixes state transitions of Nvidia Pascal GPUs from D3cold into higher device
states.
v2: convert to pci_dev quirk
put a proper technical explenation of the issue as a in-code comment
RFC comment (copied from last sent):
We are quite sure that there is a higher amount of bridges affected by this,
but I was only testing it on my own machine for now.
I've stresstested runpm by doing 5000 runpm cycles with that patch applied

[PATCH 0/4] nouveau_hwmon: migrate to hwmon_device_register_with_info
Hi again,
I've split the patches as Karol Herbst suggested.
I hope now it's fine.
This series of patches introduce the new hwmon_device_register_with_info
and gets rid of the old hwmon_device_register.
This patch adds the default sensors with their possible config values.
Just to prepare for the next patches

Unreliable ZFS backups or....
I looked into backing up ZFS and quite honostly I can''t say I am convinced about its usefullness here when compared to the traditional ufsdump/restore. While snapshots are nice they can never substitute offline backups. And although you can keep quite some snapshots lying about it will consume diskspace, one of the reasons why people also keep offline backups.
However, while you can make
