[LLVMdev] LLVM bytecode simulator/emulator?
...o support will be limited. We have some compiler experts in our research group, who will be able to help me when I experience serious problems (I think). I think it's worth a shot, atleast until I can really evaluate if the effort is worth it or not. Besides that, I can probably rely on the expierence of some people on this mailinglist? What is the best way to start such an ambitious project? Do I just check which external functions are called in the bytecode I get, and try to support those functions using LLVM code? Why has no-one supported printf yet? Is it that hard (I have no idea re...

POP3 and mail retention
Using outlook 2010 as mail client, I have noticed that once an email is moved from inbox, it is deleted from the cur/ directory on the server. Is there a pop3 setting on dovecot that would keep emails, with possible retention period, and recognize that this email has been moved from inbox, etc.. If all of this is doable, would setting outlook to delete the email after 14 days work? delete email

timer kernelpatch for xen-enabled kernels
...d so on. Sometimes even the system reboots without any further message if kde or gnome gets started. After some research I found a patch on the xen-devel mailinglist, which helps and fixes this problem. Xen hasn't applied it to upstream, because Jan Pratt said, that there are too few people expierence this problem for changing something like the timer. For me it works perfectly. After some more researches I found out, that booting with "nosmp" also fixes the problem, so this seems to be related to smp as well. Because the hardware used within my notebook is nothing special (norm...

migration from dovecot to dovecot on different servers without downtime (dovecot replication?)
Hello, I have an imap server with huge Maildirs and several users running dovecot 1.0.13, I need to migrate all the imap accounts to a new box which runs dovecot 1.1.4. The requisite is that need to do it with no downtime or minimal downtime possible, and totally transparent for end users. I have tried IMAP<-->IMAP syncing using a master user in both servers and imapsync, however due
