multiple domain contr. not allowed?
...owser on workgroup SERVICES 255.255.255.255 add_domain_names:querying WINS for domain master on workgroup SERVICES response_name_query_domain: WINS server already has a domain master \ browser registered SERVICES(1b) at address 207.95.42.243 ERROR: nmbd configured as domain master and one already exitsts !!! ... and nmbd exits. This is not the behavior that BROWSE.TXT suggests (at least how I'm reading it). Is this domain controller fail-over capability not implemented or does what I'm seeing represent a bug? dfree (Samba 2.0.7)
I'm useing Samba (2.0.7) on an Compaq TRUE64 (Digital OSF) Server. Everything is working fine, but the dfree-script does not work. I think it's not even called. The corosponding entry in my smb.conf is: [global] server string = Samba %v Server, xxxx workgroup = xxxx keep alive = 30 dead time = 15 dfree command = /usr/local/samba/bin/dfree The script it self works fine

BUG: when using 'addprinter command'
When using the 'addprinter command' a Win2K client can add a printer to a samba server. When de wizards is at it's end it first gives a error of 'Access diened' when executing for the second time it gives 'Printer already existed'. Option configure
Under some circumstances for debugging purposes it may be helfpfull to know the PID used during startup as well. Just noted that this one is only listen in forked mode. Samba does fork with type=notify as well but systemd is waiting for sd_notify message in that mode. Anyway, for curiosity i recompiled samba with --without-systemd. If i use type=notify mode now and no PIDFile, systemctl start

I was playing with this on my test machine, (redhat 5.2, samba 2.0.3) worked great, and I was really impressed. So I decided to install this on my office machine. (redhat 4.2, samba 2.0.3) and the only significant difference is that on the office machine, I use encrypted passwords. I cannot get swat to authenticate on the second machine. That is, no matter what account, password combination
