Accessing examplars in apcluster (apcluster package)
Hi, I was wondering how it was possible to access the actual cluster exemplars from the APResult class. Currently it only spits it out onto the terminal if you type the object but there is no other way to see which one is the examplar. Would appreciate any help. Thanks, Sachin [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Testing Models without fixtures
Hi, I would like to test a sorting method that is in the user model, it''s a class method called search. What I would like to do is create 2 users and load the test database with just those 2 users, so that I can call User.search("john") and it would return those two users. Not sure how to clear the test database and populate it just with these 2 users for that specific

[LLVMdev] [LV] possible `vector.memcheck` regression when using `llvm.loop` and `llvm.mem.parallel_loop_access`
...ore a `vector.memcheck` basic block is inserted, where as before it was not. It's unclear if this is a regression, as I assume that if I upgrade my frontend to use the new alias metadata instead of the loop metadata then I would expect this problem to disappear. Please advise, happy to provide exemplar code if helpful. v/r, Josh -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... extending prototype''s classes
Hi, I''m relatively new to javascript programming, and OOP in general, so please be nice to me ;) My question is: I''d like to extend the Form class in prototype to have a Disable function that will disable all of the fields in a form. I''ve already written a function to do this, but I''d like to include it in my own library so I can access it easily and also

Printer banner always 'nobody'
I've had this problem as long as I've been using samba: every time anyone prints from a PC they get a banner page labeling them 'nobody.' Now, I realize this has to do with the guest account being 'nobody,' and the server is passing that name to the printer. It can get very frustrating, though, when lots of folks use the same printer and all of the jobs have the same name

Fixtures considered harmful?
...ples at <http:// rspec.rubyforge.org/documentation/rails/writing/models.html>, almost all of them use fixtures. Can someone please clarify why use of fixtures are not recommended? Anyone care to recommend an active, open source Rails project that''s using RSpec and which is an exemplar of "best practice"? I''d really like to get things right first time, if I can... Cheers, Wincent

...ng practice. 4. Vendor extensions must be considered very carefully, and only admitted when necessary. Similar to Clang and libc++, it does seem inevitable that we will need to provide some level of compatibility with other vendors' extensions. 5. The project should be an exemplar of developing with LLVM tooling. Two examples are fuzz testing from the start, and sanitizer-supported testing. There are also few areas which we do not intend to invest in at this point: 1. Implement dynamic loading and linking support. 2. Support for more architectures (we...

Minard's Challenge: Re-Visioning Minard Contest
...ations and procedural or declarative specifications required to program a re-creation (or extension) of this famous graph. It occurred to me that it might be of interest, perhaps fun, and hopefully illuminating to pose this as a formal challenge to the R community and others. Several exisiting exemplars are shown on my 'Re-visions of Minard' web page http://www.math.yorku.ca/SCS/Gallery/re-minard.html (in the Gallery of Data Visualization, ../) These include programming examples in Mathematica, SAS/IML Workshop, Wilkinson's Grammar of Graphics, images created in other data visualizat...

Insignificant variable improves AIC (multinom)?
Hi, I am trying to specify a multinomial logit model using the multinom function from the nnet package. Now I add another independent variable and it halves the AIC as given by summary(multinom()). But when I call Anova(multinom()) from the car package, it tells me that this added variable is insignificant (Pr(>Chisq)=0.39). Thus, the improved AIC suggests to keep the variable but the Anova

Essay identification
Hi R-help, I have a database of 10 students who have written an overall of 78 essays. The challenge? I would like to identify who wrote the 79th essay. Has anybody used R in this context? Even if not, would you suggest me which pattern recognition technique I might possibly apply? Thanks a lot and regards, Tom --------------------------------- [[alternative HTML version
