gem fetching error
I am trying to install some application using gem, but I keep on getting the error. I tried with ''gem clean'' and ''gem update''. The latter gives the following error (the same error is replicable when I try any ruby applications): # gem update --debug Exception `Errno::ENOENT'' at /usr/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/config_file.rb:51 - No such file or directory - /root/.gemrc Exception `NameError'' at /usr/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/command_manager.rb:145 - uninitiali...

Disabling Exception in LLVM
LLVM does not allow the use of exceptions in our code. We do not allow throwing or catching them. That does not mean you cannot compile the code with exceptions enabled, it just means we don't use them. Clang is a full C++ compiler. Even though LLVM & Clang do not use exceptions in their implementation, Clang does support comp...

controller exceptions
Since Merb has the lovely property of rendering the output of an action, using ruby-level exceptions to render error pages in Merb could be a cute way to approach error handling. Suppose one has an action for editing a product which you would like to restrict to administrators: def edit raise AdminAccessReqired unless session[:user] and session[:user].admin? @product = Product.find...

Disabling Exception in LLVM
Hi Chris, Thanks for answering, Can u clarify on this comment mentioned in https://github.com/Z3Prover/z3/issues/861 . cplusplus no exception support · Issue #861 · Z3Prover/z3 · GitHub - LLVM's *source code* does not use exceptions for performance reasons and so is compiled by default with -fno-exceptions. When using LLVM's libraries via it's C++ interface it is important to match how LLVM was built (i.e....

Safe way to destroy records
Hello, how can I check if a destroy was successful? Is the object only frozen if deleted or do I have to do an additional find to see if there is a record left? What happens if an after_destroy callback returns false? Is there always a rollback? Markus

Ruby on Rails & FastCGI 500 Error
I''m getting an error 500 and I''m at my wits end as to what could be causing it. I''m sure the path to the ruby executable is correct so what else could be causing it? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Hook into Exception Chain
Hi there, I''m using Log4r in my rails projects. On log.error an email is sent using the EmailOutputter. I know changed the EmailOutputter to include a global var in the subject (MDC) since the subject is normally static. I want to set this var to the exception message, so it is sent as the subject. Can anyone tell me how to do this in rails? Basically: raise e or some other cause > -> Log4r::MDC.put(''subject'', e.message) > continue with the exception I found *rescue_from* but it just gives it to the handler and then st...

[PATCH] [RFC] More fp instructions for realmode emulation (Enables booting OS/2 as a HVM guest on Intel/VT hardware)
...ness" of the FSTSW emulation and the use of inline assembly directly using the corresponding ops for emulation. Wrt FSTSW, it is really two ops FNSTSW immediately preceeded by an FWAIT. I''ve left FWAIT defined, but a no-op because after looking at realmode.c it seems in the emulation, exceptions are always processed if a call to x86_emulate returns an exception, so there should be no way for there to be "pending" exceptions for FWAIT to wait for. I may have missed something, though, hence the RFC. Secondly, about the inline assembly - i saw that this was how many of the othe...

Disabling Exception in LLVM
Siddharth, I'm not sure what coding standards you refer to when you say "some C++ coding standard". This question is answered in the LLVM Coding Standards document here: https://www.llvm.org/docs/CodingStandards.html#do-not-use-rtti-or-exceptions <https://www.llvm.org/docs/CodingStandards.html#do-not-use-rtti-or-exceptions> As such LLVM's coding standards prohibit the use of exceptions and RTTI. -Chris > On May 1, 2018, at 10:02 AM, Siddharth Shankar Swain via llvm-dev <llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org> w...

smtp timeout failures
Hi. I''m using backgroundrb to, in part, wrap smtp transactions made through actionmailer. The problem is that when smtp fails with a timeout error, the worker simply stops at that point. No exception is returned. I''ve tried wrapping this call in a begin...rescue block but no exception seems to be making it back to the worker (other methods are correctly passing exceptions to the worker). I''ve tested to see if this is an issue of the delay prior to the exception being throw...

Catching non-Merb::ControllerExceptions Exceptions
Is there an agreed upon method for handling exceptions thrown by something outside of Merb? For example, DataMapper now throws a DataMapper::ObjectNotFoundError when a record isn''t found in the db. I''d like to catch these exceptions and raise a C:E:NotFound exception instead, but without having to wrap a lot of code in begin/...

Exception handling support for a target
I think it's valuable to have precise / asynchronous unwind information without adding support for non-call exceptions. Profilers and debuggers need to be able to unwind the stack from arbitrary instruction boundaries, but they don't need to run exception handlers. We can still declare that outside the model. Speaking of which, barring bugs, we do support precise unwind info on Win64. Even if we were to su...

Exception handling support for a target
...plus the desire to create the additional .cfi directives. > Feedback and pointers will be most helpful. Look for this as a new thread sometime > early next week (we're having our final review on Monday before I post it). Are you planning on extending LLVM to add support for non-call exceptions? Currently, LLVM is not able to produce correct unwind tables for arbitrary exception points because it does not split basic blocks in such a way that values that are created in a basic block will be visible in at the end. For example, if I do int i = 0; try { i++; foo(); i++; } catch...
