John Rosatti, Excavators, 3D, NASA and Why Should I care?
Well, because! There are two definitions for excavator; one is any person
engaging in excavation is called an excavator. The second definition of
excavator is, of course, the vehicles called excavators, which are sometimes
called diggers, trackhoes, fron...

I've given it a try now and would like to get some feedback whether this

Synthesize low batt (LB) fron SNMP UPS which does not support this?
...ed on their own UPS queries. Probably
doable, but not that nice.
Idly browsing the client sources, I guess I could try to add our logic
here[1] and use [2] to gather the battery stats from our UPS and then
decide if this UPS is considered critical or not. But for this, I would
need to dust off/excavate my ancient poor C knowledge ;-).
I guess I will give this a try unless someone has a brilliant idea and
could save my sanity.
Cheers
Carsten

Gracias.

"Does that help?"
No. I am not your private consultant. You need to reply to the list, which
I have cc'ed here, not just me.
I am still somewhat confused by your specifications, but others may not be.
Part of my confusion stems from your failure to provide a reproducible
example (see e.g. the posting guide linked below). For example, I cannot
tell from your text whether the Abc

how to force llvm generate gather intrinsic
If I'm understanding correctly, you're saying that vgather* is slow on all
of Excavator, Haswell, Broadwell, and Skylake (client). Therefore, we will
not generate it for any of those machines.
Even if that's true, we should not define "gatherIsSlow()" as "hasAVX2() &&
!hasAVX512()". It could break for some hypothetical future processor that

Portable OpenSSH Solaris UseLogin Issue
Greetings,
In order to use solaris's BSM (Basic security module) also called c2 audit,
which logs specific kernel calls depending on your audit_control,
I would need to use login(1) to log users exec calls and whatnot because
Portable OpenSSH does not have <bsm/audit.h> support, now that would mean I
would have to enable Uselogin in sshd_config in order for that to work.
I am running

[PATCH tip/x86/mm] x86_32: calculate additional memory needed by the fixmap
From: Stefano Stabellini <stefano.stabellini@eu.citrix.com>
When NR_CPUS increases the fixmap might need more than the page
allocated by head_32.S.
This patch introduces the logic to calculate the additional memory that
is going to be required by early_ioremap_page_table_range_init:
- enough memory to allocate the pte pages needed to cover the fixmap
virtual memory range, minus the single

No. Gather operation is slow on AVX2 processors.

how to force llvm generate gather intrinsic
It seems that http://reviews.llvm.org/D15690 only implemented
gather/scatter for AVX-512, but not for AVX/AVX2. Is there any plan to
enable gather for AVX/2? Thanks.
Best,
Zhi
