Problems with different mail clients
I use dovecot as my imap server, and everything is ok. I used an IMAP client from Windows XP (Outlook Express) as well as Pocket PC (Windows Mobile 5) and webmail. The problem is that I recently used Windows Vista and its imap client (Windows Mail), and problems began. >From the Windows XP machine, all is ok, but from the Pocket PC a weird thing happens: When I first configure the client,

For developers and users
Hi folks... WineHQ web-site isn't exaustive about "contributing to localized versions of Wine". [quote] "If you're willing to register for work on a certain language, then please sign up with us!" [unquote] OK... How? However, I (hopefully) post my work here. I wrote a WINE-xx/dlls/shell32/shell32_xx.rc in Esperanto and I updated the italian one. Regards

Mapping all members of an AD group to a single unix username?
...o be able to authenticate to a Samba Share, mainly along the lines of DOMAIN\GroupName, but I can't figure out a way to get this to work. What I need is for any member of the DOMAIN\SambaGroup to authenticate to the Samba server as the unix user winuser. Any tips or pointers on this? I've exausted all perumtations I could think of in google, and various pages seem to suggest that this can be done, but don't say how. Rory

Limit packets per second
Hi all, Is there a way to create a class that limits the amount of packets of any rule in a period ( like pps ) ? Some aplications like game servers, send so much little udp packets to the clients that the router cpu gets exausted, even with relative low bandwidith usage. Any idea ? When I first configure the client, in the Received Items, it shows all = items correctly, but then, when starting to donwload, they simply = disappear. All other folders are OK. Problem is just in inbox. I thing (although my tests were not exaustive) that deleting the .imap = folder solves the problem, but I just can't understand why, because it = is recreated again... Any help? Thank you,

Problems installing R-2.4.1 on Solaris 11 x-86 from source: error in "gmake" after successful "configure"]
...ctly, but received an error in "make", aparently related to bzip2 which I have been unable to debug. The messages are listed below. The configure.log and configure.site and teh terminal output with the error message files are attached. Any help would be sincerely appreciated, as I have exausted my debugging resources. I believe that there is a problem with the configure script in dealing with my particular setup. Infinite loop running Mod_R/Rapache
...rce /var/www/html/test.R RreqHandler handler </Location> to my http.conf and test.R in /var/www/html is: handler<-function(r){ apache.write(r,"<h1>Hello World!</h1>") OK } When I start apache2, my /tmp directory fills with rtmp directories until memory is exausted. The first time it created 32,000 before I noticed. Does anyone have any idea as to what I could be doing wrong, or have a software configuration that works? Thank you for all of your help. ~BJ

Re: Programmatically force shutdown a guest: possible?
Yes, you are right. Listen, as the documentation is not very exaustive, can you explain briefly to me how a guest agent works? After installing it via the apt-get on the hypervisor (I am using ubuntu as host system) how can I create a script which would do this? That is waiting for an acpi signal and actually shut down the guest. And what other operation can you actually do with a guest agent? I

RTCP + Stasis causing high memory consumption
...erisk list, I've facing a memory allocation issue that happens occasionally but on a consistent basis. The problem happens as follow, suddenly Asterisk starts consuming a lot of memory, in a rate of more than 1GB per hour. Kernel will eventually kill it via the OOM killer when memory is really exausted... This situation does not generate backtrace because Asterisk is responsive during the whole time and can be stopped/started. After compiling Asterisk with the MALLOC_DEBUG flag, when the problem happened we could see this output with the most consuming files, using "memory show summary"...

...different client software on the dos stations, or update the samba setup to a different version. I like ubuntu, but am not wedded to it. However, the dos stations must stay, even if I must maintain a server with 3.0 on it to keep them running. Any ideas? I am more that willing to RTFM, but have exausted my ideas of which FM and which part of it to read. Hints in this matter would be welcome. Hints on which config option in smb.conf would be even more welcome. Thanks in advance, Jim Hurlburt Atrium Windows and Doors Northwest. Yakima, WA USA

As you can see I tried adding the printer driver stuff, but that didn't have an impact. I've exausted the ideas I've come up with for debugging this: can anyone suggest what next to explore? Any configuration details I've overlooked? Thanks for any help. - Scott === smb.conf === # Global parameters [global] workgroup = HOME hosts allow = 192.168.37. 127. securi...

Samba, quotas and disk capacity?
...ust be turned on at compile time, so perhaps your 2.0.5 version was not compiled "with-quotas"... I tested quotas and the HP 2.0.7 version here and it works the way that Dirk mentions, you will get the 'bytes free' that indicates the amount of space left before the quotas size is exausted. Turns out that you can get (no charge) the 2.0.7 version built specifically for HP-UX 11.0 from the following HP web site: http://software.hp.com/cgi-bin/swdepot_parser.cgi/cgi/displayProducts.pl?gro up_type=category&group_name=NSM Just click on the product marked CIFS/9000 Server (Samba)....

Programmatically force shutdown a guest: possible?
I am looking at the shutdown method, but if the guest system is a desktop system, like for example ubuntu, it just has the effect to show a box prompting the user for a shutdown/reboot/ and such. I could enter the guest and change this default behaviour and it actually works..but I'd like for a way to send a shutdown command without doing so. Is it possible?

NFS insanity
Hi all, I've got some insanity with mounting an NFS share that before reloading my workstation afresh worked perfectly, but now refuses to mount. Actually there are two servers with shares mounted. (1) Mandrake 10.0 file server - two shares - mount perfectly (2) Fedora Core 3 - one share - can't mount to save my life! My workstation is CentOS 4. I reloaded it to get rid of the FC3
