How to updating R to the newest version conveniently
...been using R for a while. However, I don't know what is the
convenient way to update R to the newest version while keep all packages
I previously downloaded and installed from CRAN, if updating all those
packages the same will be even better.
for the time being, I reinstall all those package evrytime after updating
the version.

Yum update from repo server

My local deployed servers build from this local reposerver are updated
correctly.
If I have a pc running with centos which I updated from centos 5.2 to
5.3 with yum update some weeks ago, and I use the same repo config
files
from the local deployed repo server . But I get now evrytime an url
error. And the error is telling me that the url can't be found.
If I copy the url' into a' browser I get the correct file. It looks
like to me' that all centos machines which are upgrade from 5.2' to 5.3
have the same problem.
Initial build machines with 5.3 don'...

No authentication sockets found
Thunderbird (2.0) is all of a sudden checking mail server capabilities
and keep posting a popup saying:
"Mail Server imap.bard.edu is not an IMAP4 mail server". To the best of
my knowledge, neither Tbird nor DC have been updated, though the DC imap
host was rebooted today 3 hours ago. Any info on what this is about?
DC is currently serving out of a special port and in evaluation
