GIT issues today?
'git fetch' was throwing an error, so I renamed my source directory and tried to clone a new copy, but I'm seeing the same problem. Friday 11th: Aswath Rao: "Trapezoidal VoIP is Evil" on VoIP Users Conference at Noon EDT
Hi, We're pleased have a 25-year telephony veteran with us tomorrow, Aswath Rao. Aswath maintains that "Trapezoidal VoIP is Evil". Join us and ask questions, make comments, argue about geeky details... and maybe win a Gigaset S675IP SIP/DECT g722-capable phone with an additional handset. Those of us who have these phones like them a lot. All dial in info is here: http://VUC.me -

New AppDB - I am the only one to hate it?
Until a couple of days ago, I could look in the AppDB like in a tree from category to category and I had the name of the application IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. Now there is some field to click, search by rating .etc but if I want to find my application, I have to go through 200 applications rated by last entries. I seriously don't find anything anymore? Is it a change to make use of the google

rsync as a change-detecting security tool
I suspect rsync actually *cannot* be used as a change detection tool for security purposes, but I want some help with my reasoning. Imagine a backup system that uses rsync to move files from client to a trusted server. The backup system operates in "pull" mode, and the backup server uses rsync to pull files from the client. Rsync does its magic --link-dest thing, and we detect the

Evil Player
I tried Evil Player on Macpup 528. Installs fine, doesn't create menu entries though, which may be more a problem with Macpup. Works fine but freezes when I try to add url radio streams.

I found this interesting: amount of evil traffic on the internet
I've just done a little "study" (well, nothing quite that pretentious) of the traffic hitting my router, that gets DROPped the router's firewall. there is a surprisingly (to me, at least) enormous amount of it. over about the last 3 weeks, it has dropped over 65,000 connection attempts. I finally got around to figuring out how to have the router's logging mechanism connect

ZFS Evil Tuning Guide
Tuning should not be done in general and Best practices should be followed. So get very much acquainted with this first : http://www.solarisinternals.com/wiki/index.php/ZFS_Best_Practices_Guide Then if you must, this could soothe or sting : http://www.solarisinternals.com/wiki/index.php/ZFS_Evil_Tuning_Guide So drive carefully. -r

Evil Genius Crashes unexpectedly
Hey there! I've been playing Evil Genius on steam and for the most part it works fine, but frequently (sometimes more frequently than others) it crashes at very inopportune times. The wine page for the game talks about unexpected crashes, but it sounds like these are related to the game autosaving, and I turned off my autosaving yet this persists. Here's what my terminal (The first bit

[PATCH 2/6] drm/dp_mst: Remove all evil duplicate state pointers
There's no reason to track the atomic state three times. Unfortunately, this is currently what we're doing, and even worse is that there is only one actually correct state pointer: the one in mst_state->base.state. mgr->state never seems to be used, along with the one in mst_state->state. This confused me for over 4 hours until I realized there was no magic behind these pointers.
