ActionMailer Automatically sends an email everyday at a specific time.
Hi,
I would like to have a notification system where an email is sent to
specific addresses every morning with different contents everyday. The
contents are stored in the data, but the number of recipients is a
few. So, it''s not a gigantic task.
I will be using ActionMailer on Rails 2.0.2, but I can''t come up with
a way to trigger the method to send the emails at a given time
everyday. If my understanding is correc...

Recoding a variable
Hi All,
I'm relatively new to R. I have a variable, "internet use," which ranges
from "Almost everyday, "Several times a week," "Several times a month,"
"Seldom," "Never," and "Don't know." I want to recode this data into a
new variable, say "use.internet," such that I have a dichotomous
variable indicating simply whether or not the...

This may or may not be CentOS related, but am out of ideas at this
point and wanted to bounce this off the list.
I'm running a CentOS 5.5 server, running the latest kernel 2.6.18-194.32.1.el5.
Almost everyday around 3:30 AM the server completely locks up and has
to be power cycled before it will come back online.

Smells like a hardware issue to me too, but I went through all of the

Please consider re-reading this vignette of mine. BLAS is an interface,

Multi-threaded Math Libraries (Trough OpenBlas), taking into account that
today's laptops have a minimum of 2-4 cores, are an important topic, and in
my opinion, shall be included in R for the general interest.
I think that the way to go would be to create a configuration setting in
R's options(OpenBlas= TRUE|FALSE) which enables or disables OpenBlas in an
easy way, which by default shall

I would be very cautious about OpenBLAS in particular... from time to
time I get complains from users that compiled code calculations in my
WGCNA package crash or produce wrong answers with large data, and they
all come from OpenBLAS users. I am yet to reproduce any of their
crashes when using MKL and ATLAS BLAS implementations.
Just my 2 cents...

In order to document the generated Know-How of Optional BLAS Libraries
Implementation and Tests (For example: OpenBLAS), I have created a
Mediawiki based wiki page in which anyone can document and discuss any
issues he/she encounters:

I will myself document all observations and attach the papers that
have been mentioned in R-devel related to

It seems that reproducibility across systems is also an issue with
multithreaded BLASes:

Do those issues still arise when OpenBLAS is compiled with USE_OPENMP=1 ?
