Write greek text to Windows Unicode file
Hi, everybody!
I am an experienced senior programmer, but absolutely newbie in R, so excuse me if my question is too silly.
I need for my work to evaluete some greek text statistically. The text is in a Windows Unicode file, so I read it in via
readLines(...,encoding="UCS-2LE")
and it works perfectly! But finally the program has to write out the results (e.g. frequencies, but of course the greek root words too...

Problem in optim(method="L-BFGS-B") (PR#1717)

When calculating MLE's in a variance component model using constrained
optimization, i.e. optim(...,method="L-BFGS-B",...) I observed an inproper
behaviour in cases where
the likelihood function was evalueted at the constraint. Parameters and value of
the
function at the constraint seem to be returned in this case.
I've tried to reproduce the effect in a very simple example:

Problem with default_mail_env in beta9
.../var/mail//HOME_DIRECTORY_USED_BUT_NOT_GIVEN_BY_USERDB, control=, inbox=
this inicates to me, that
1. homedirvariable is unset
OK, because I assigned mailMessageStore to local FOO
2. default_mail_env is correct evaluated to maildir:/var/mail/%h
Question:
Why is default_mail_env not correct evalueted to maildir:/var/mail/sca/ if sca/ is set as homedir ?
As mentions above, this worked fine with beta7 ...
What do I wrong ???
