I made the symlink into /dev/udev/rules.d/ so it works.

Japanese and Korean Fonts inside Wine.
I installed Ubuntu in English.
How now, "Wine" to force to show the Korean (Hangeul) and Japanese (Hiragana/Katakana/kanji) fonts?.

Unicode conversions from JA encodings
...s; Japanese Windows systems use yen symbols
for those.
We don't have that compatibility problem; Ogg tags (and probably
metadata, too) are best off converting SJIS 0x5C to U+00A5 (Unicode's
codepoint for the yen symbol).
I'd suggest using Unicode's tables (x-sjis-unicode-0.9 and
x-eucjp-unicode-0.9.) They're obsoleted, but not because they're not
useful. (I believe the problem is that vendors aren't willing to change
their tables--for compatibility with their own products.)
I don't think the width problems listed are worth worrying about; those
are a system prob...

I'm trying to use freebsd-update for first time.
I have 9.0-RELEASE installed without sources and I have read Handbook chapter
and manual page for freebsd-update.
"freebsd-update -r 9.1-RC3 upgrade" downloaded updates, its "install" command
installed kernel and after reboot second "install" invocation installed binaries
but not source tree that is needed to

R 2.9.2 crashes when sorting latin1-encoded strings
Hi everyone!
I think I stumbled over a bug in the latest R 2.9.2 patched for OS X:
> R version 2.9.2 Patched (2009-09-24 r49861)
> i386-apple-darwin9.8.0
When I try to sort latin1-encoded character vectors, R sometimes
crashes with a segmentation fault. I'm running OS X 10.5.8 and have
observed this behaviour both with the i386 and x86_64 builds, in the
R.app GUI as well as on
