Query re Tom''s firewall (see http://www.shorewall.net/myfiles.htm)
On the firewall, what is the rationale for giving eth1 an IP address
that is also assigned eto eth0? (Rather than a private one.)

new version of package water: Actual Evapotranspiration with Energy Balance Models
...hot
temperature criterium, distance, mean of many pixels, etc
* Added two methods for land surface estimation: single channel and
split windows.
Split windows only works for Landsat 8.
* loadImage now loads thermal data also: low gain for L7 and both bands for L8
* Fixed big bug when estimating ETo with a large weather station file

all.equal: subscript out of bounds
When I do
> all(all$X.Time == all$Y.Time);
[1] TRUE
as expected, but
> all.equal(all$X.Time,all$Y.Time);
Error in target[[i]] : subscript out of bounds
why?
thanks!

random draw from a RESTRICTED pareto distribution
Dear R user,
I am a newcomer and need help concerning 'draw a random number for a
restricted area of a prareto distribution'.
(1) For estimation of pareto distribution:
We calculate the pareto distribution (parameter estimation) as follows:
pareto.MLE <- function(X)

Asterisk - can't hear other side. Or other side does not hear us
Hello,
This is not technical post, just looking for suggestions on what to check.I have asterisk for long time, no updates, just maintain OS updates.
I use SPA504G phones
Very rarely and randomly when we pickup a phone - other side does not hear us. Call them back and all works.
Now I have couple people I'm talking to and it seems like very call like this. Someone can't hear someone.

Higher quality video - supporting greater than 8 bit color depth

5. Would be very forward-looking, I think, to support ability to qualify the
video components in the video header (i.e. in RGB terms, "what kind of green
is this, really"). This means defining filter's median wave length and breadth.
Something even more elegant to scal eto scientific applications perhaps would
be, for each channel, specify the filter curve and response curve. ... and
support potentially more (or less) than three channels such as our plain (R G B
or Y Pr Pb). There may be applications incluing IR or UV channels, or simply
additional channels at sp...

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:

rsync is great
I'm not on the list but I just wanted to throw my positive feedback out
there. I've been using rsync to backup work that I generate within a
lab to an offsite system. If I lost this data ...
So great.
In standard community fashion, though, I want to throw an idea out
there. It would be nice if there were an option like:
--delete-if-too-old
Currently I run a cron job which copies
