Cisco firmwares 3.6.3 vs 3.8.6
...work outside of the LAN. Our phones use DNS names to talk to A*k, so in theory, just enabling NAT makes the phone work outside the LAN (home users, remote users, etc). However, when we loaded the 3.8.6 firmware to these phones, we've found the phones no longer work outside of the LAN. Using Etherreal, we've found that the communication between the Phone and A*k breaks (A*k never sees the Register packets, but the phone does seem to send them. I'll post more detail if its needed, but I wondered if anyone else has seen this ? The size of the IP packet for register is different (larger on...

[Bridge] bridge problem when one interface is in blocking mode
...rom box 2 to box 1 does not has this problem. After we tracing the code, we noticed that the box try to using wifi to send the packages which is in blocking mode. This happens because the ath0 is returned from the forwarding database. It's implemented in __br_fdb_get(br, dest). >From the etherreal, I noticed, that the STP package is broadcast from the box 2. From the function br_handle_frame(), if a stp package is received, it will update the forwarding database. Since the STP package is sent/received by both interfaces, the wifi (blocking) received the package and update the forwarding data...

reinvite
I've never used "reinvite" in systems I have installed to date, and I have finally run across a situation where it would be preferred. A remote office has a flaky Internet connection. With G729 encoding the calls to the central office over the 'net are tolerable. One Linksys 2102 drives two phones at this location, and when the first one calls the second one it travels to

Samba3.0b1 Issues with XP, LDAP, and ACLs
...may be because they are on different subnets, but they are all operating off the same wins servers.... and I don't even see one of the wins servers in nautilus or in windows *ugh*. nautilus never prompts for a login/password when trying to connect to the servers. Looking at the talking using etherreal shows it only tries to auth and the server disconnects them. This behaviour on the server's part could be part of my issues with my XP users as none of them use the same passwd for thier laptops. With LDAP, for some reason samba keeps 8+ connections at any given time with no users logged in....

Requesting help with a log entry
Does anyone know what this log entry indicates? What service running on a WinNT server would send out a UDP packet with source port 137 and destination port 1? 3.0.20a nmbd/wins problems - can't find domain
...XP SP2 client to see if it was a MS patch All the above steps failed :-( How we can reproduce the error... 1 - login to domain 2 - turn off computer, not log off 3 - login into domain when the login screen appears 4 - goto step 2 and repeat until domain login fails (about 2-3 times) Using etherreal we have notice that the only difference between a good or bad session is.. bad session - client doesn't do anything with the NB name query and goes to DNS to find the IP of the server that handles the CSYORKUCA domain. We dont't have the netbios name in our DNS good session - client doesn...

dhclient doing DISCOVER with bad IP checksum - bge
Sorry for the cross-post, but this could be either lists problem. I have 2 boxes running 7-STABLE as of 20081130, both i386 SMP. One is running ISC DHCPD 3.0.x from recent ports, and the other dhclient from make world. The server is refusing to answer the DISCOVER request, as it thinks the IP checksum is wrong, which tcpdump also confirms. Other DHCP clients are working fine on this network,

Voipbuster blocking Asterisk/IAX connections?
What settings are people using? I've seen the ones from dslreports but I'm in that lucky group of people that paid the 1 euro just to have it no longer work. Even after I setup a additional account over the weekend it still doesn't work. And, of course, etherreal only shows encrypted traffic so I can't snag any config settings from it. Any assistance? -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Tony Hoyle Sent: Monday, August 15, 2005 7:42 PM To: Asterisk Users...

Using Samba over VPN - shares disconnect on Windows clients
I am running Poptop 1.1.4 VPN server, Samba 3.0.6, RH 9 (2.4.20-8 patched for mppe-mppc). When the end user connects via VPN, they can create a share to the samba shared folder that was created. When they clost the explorer window, then reopen the shared drive from the "My Computer" view, the share can not be re-opened with the error that the mapped drive is alreay in use. I have

"Delayed Write Failed" and other similar errors on Windows machines
I am experiencing an error which has been reported on the internet since Samba 2.2.7 and Windows 2000. There are many suggestions as to the cause of this problem, but no working solutions that I've been able to find. I've already invested two weeks on this problem. I was running Samba 3.0.7 under Mandrake for the last year, and this problem was not present. Because Mandrake had other

Logging of client commands, possible?
Hi folks, sorry if this has been discussed before, I did a quick search on the mailing list but found nothing pertinent. My question: is it possible to log all data that is sent from the ssh client to the sshd server? Rationale: I'd like to log all commands that users execute when being logged in via ssh. And I mean all, as the system in question is a sensitive production server, so

IAX softphone fails through PRI trunks with Hangup
I've a call center using IAX softphones provided by a third party. We've observed problems where the IAX phones seem unable to use our PRI trunks. A sample anonymized call is provided below with the PRI debug calls embedded. Any thoughts, comments or suggestions would be welcome. In anonymizing it, I preseved the format and number of digits sent. -- Accepting AUTHENTICATED
