PXELINUX, pxechain.com and Etherboot
Hi,
Anyone has tried to use pxechain with Etherboot? Here is my problem:
The Etherboot client had no problem to get the list of install servers
manual from the pxechain. But didn't matter which server was chosen,
Etherboot client always tried to use the first server to do the
installation. Etherboot 5.4 was used.
What the problem may be? P...

pxelinux is a PXE boot loader, it depends on a PXE-Rom installed in the
network card. This loads the config file, a kerne...

PXE-on-a-disk Intel EM64T reboot
Hello! I have been successful using SYSLINUX and Etherboot to create a
generic "PXE-on-a-disk" package, a floppy image and CD image that
support as many Ethernet cards as possible.
These have support for all of Etherboot's modules that support real PCI
cards: about 25-or-so drivers and 250-or-so cards. I've built Etherboot

pxelinux.0
I'm not sure if this belongs here or on an etherboot list. I've given up
on trying to get a single floppy syslinux with enough stuff to remote
mount a file system. I'm trying an etherboot floppy.
When I boot the system finds the dhcp server and gets the right file
name but then it gives me the message "not a valid image." A quic...

memdisk etherboot integration
Folks:
I've used etherboot to create a zrom that successfully brings a image of a
bootable floppy into high memory. What I'd like to do is glue memdisk in so
that it can hook int13 and serve the transferred image for booting when
etherboot hands control back to the BIOS.
The trick, and this is where I'd appreciat...

[PATCH v2 0/3] hvmloader: Make ROM dependencies optional
This patch set mainly allows the user to build a seabios or rombios only
version of hvmloader.
In addition, when building a seabios only hvmloader, Option ROMs like
vgabios and etherboot are no longer required, and therefore can be disabled
from the build. Dependency on the bcc compiler can also be avoided the
same way.
v2: Separate patches for separate issues
Introduced config option to select which NIC to build ROM for
Fixed initial patch to build multiple etherboot ROMs...

etherboot 5.3.14 and pxelinux keyboard problem
Hello PXE folk,
I mentioned in another thread that I had problems finding an etherboot
that actually works with a 486 and Realtek 8019/NE2000 card. Etherboot
worked up until v 5.3.5-mc1 with the ne driver but then stopped working
between 5.3.7 to 5.3.13 (anoying since 5.3.7 started supporting
PXELINUX. But then I downloaded 5.3.14 and it seems to work again with
the ne driver...

Fellow syslinux fans,
I'm using syslinux on a boot floppy (I'll call this syslinux A) to
invoke an etherboot image (zlilo style) which invokes a tagged NBI
image from my DHCP/TFTP server. The tagged NBI image is created using
mknbi-dos and also uses syslinux (I'll call this syslinux B), a linux
kernel and an initrd file.
It works perfectly if syslinux A has a basic .CFG, e.g.:

I tried this with two old pentiums/133 with 3c509b or rtl8139 ethernet cards

What is really vexing is that two newer computers - P4 and Athlon ?? that
have 'PXE boot' option boot just perfectly using same configuration.
I compiled the Syslinux package on P4 linux computer, however this should not

option he gives to the pxe/etherboot dhcp client.Explained at

simulate PXE boot from Etherboot ROM?
Hi,
is there any way to simulate a PXE boot from an Etherboot ROM? Background:
I am using PXES in a customer project. PXES supports bootsplash only via
pxelinux. The customer machines only have old ISA network cards for which
there appears to be no PXE boot rom so I have to use Etherboot.
Maybe one could build an NBI image from pxelinux.0 somehow ??? Use a...
