OS: CentosOS 7
I have installed samba + openldap + smbldap-tools + pam by:
    yum --enablerepo=extras install -y epel-release
    yum install -y smbldap-tools
    yum install -y samba openldap openldap-clients openldap-servers migrationtools
    yum install -y nss-pam*
I know that smbldap-tools is a dead project, but I'm interested in it and would like research on it.
I create users and

Out of curiosity, I ran:
# matchpathcon /data
/data	system_u:object_r:etc_runtime_t:s0
I'm not sure why /data is labeled etc_runtime_t, but I suspect that's
why you can't export its contents via Samba, SELinux is probably
preventing it.
I suggest following the directions here:

Missing permissions
Hi Aki,
Thanks. I was especially interested in documentation related to dovecot and
it's users permissions, the way in which dovecot uses users. Till now I
found only spread information on different articles from dovecot's website.
Thanks,
Mura Andrei

More avc's wrt to email
...n write to a 'dir' of the following types:
# clamscan_tmp_t, clamd_var_lib_t, tmp_t, root_t
allow clamscan_t amavis_spool_t:dir write;
#============= postfix_smtp_t ==============
allow postfix_smtp_t postfix_spool_maildrop_t:file open;
#============= spamd_t ==============
allow spamd_t etc_runtime_t:file append;
Is there anything wrong with just creating a local policy module for these and
loading it?

SELinux local policy addition
When the latest version of CentOS4.2 boots I get an avc error for
portmap. Audit2allow suggests this as a cure:
allow portmap_t etc_runtime_t:file read;
Any issues that come to mind to anyone regarding adding this to
/etc/selinux/targeted/src/policy/domains/misc/local.te and
reloading?
Regards,
Jim
P.S. I am a digest subscriber. The favour of a direct reply is
requested in addition to any to the list.

SElinux and Samba
Ok, so there is not a problem with SElinux and Samba. But it is a
pain to set up so it will work right. I finally figured out how to
set up SE and Samba so you can be able to write and delete files.
I found in one of that man pages "man samba_selinux", you can just
disable SE for samba. I am sure there are other ways also but this
is what I have found so far. I tried to just

Fedora packages or Enterprise packages of Samba on RHEL4?
Hello,

Can somebody of the Samba team explain me the difference of Fedora packages
or Enterprise packages ( <http://enterprisesamba.com/>
http://enterprisesamba.com/) of Samba on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4?
I tried to find any information about this subject, but googleing doesn't
help me.

The standard Samba package (3.0.10EL) of RHEL4 doesn't communicate with a
