xyplot 3 panels 3 different Y variables
...e over the other. Is there an easy way to do this?
I'd like to achieve an elegant look similar to the look achieved by lattice in conditioned plots--for instance no space between panels. But unlike in straightforward conditioned plot, each panel may be on a different scale.
Example.
? Plot Estrogen, Creatinine, and their ratio; all by the same predictor variable (say, Day).
Or: In a longitudinal study of hormones in reproductive-age women, plot progesterone, estradiol, testosterone, luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and thyroid-stimulating hormone all on one page, paralle...

PlotAffyRNAdeg on Estrogen Data
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to generate an RNA degradation plot of the Estrogen example
data plot, but seem to get an error. I've tried defining an ylim value,
ylim=c(0,30) , but it doesn't seem to work either.
My code is as follows:
> RNAdeg<-AffyRNAdeg(Data)
> png(DegLoc, width=720, height=720)
> par(ann=FALSE)
> par(mar=c(3,3,0.1,0.1))

Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel problem
Hello,
I've tried to analyze some data with a CMH test. My 3 dimensional contingency
tables are 2x2xN where N is usually between 10 and 100.
The problem is that there may be 2 strata with opposite counts (the 2x2
contigency table for these are reversed), producing opposite odds ratios that
cancle out in the overall statistics. These opposite counts are very
important for my analysis, since

factors and contrast matrix
Hi,
at the moment I'm trying to understand the limma/affy Packages. I've tried
every example I could find to try and understand the ways to create design
and contrast matrices. I must admit though, that I can't figure it out. I
did a few times the estrogen files from the book "bioinformatics and
computational biology solutions using R and Bioconductor".
I know it's a difficult question to answer, but I need all the help I can
get.
1. how does one suppose to build the design matrix by knowing what one wants
to examine? this is the create...

Mean(s) from values in different row?
Hello:
Is there a way to get a mean from values stored in different rows?
The data looks like this:
YEAR-1, JAN, FEB, ..., DEC
YEAR-2, JAN, FEB, ..., DEC
YEAR-3, JAN, FEB, ..., DEC
What I want is the mean(s) for just the consecutive winter months:
YEAR-1.DEC, YEAR-2.JAN, YEAR-2.FEB
YEAR-2.DEC, YEAR-3.JAN, YEAR-3.FEB
etc.
Thanks.

Icecast-1
Hello ...

Note that icecast-1 is deprecated and unsupported, and may possibly

If, for some reason, you absolutely must have ancient versions of
icecast (possibly for historic preservation), download icecast 1.3.12.

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hi Assorgia,
Thanks for the flash animation. I think Icecast1 might be the solution. I am
just a little bit scared by the message "Note that icecast 1 is deprecated
and unsupported, and may possibly induce nausea in small children, hair loss
in men, and estrogen fluctuations in women" that appears on the download
page. I have a nice blond hair of "Principe Azzuro" that I don't want to
lose! Just kidding.
Anyway, I am trying a little more with Icecast2 but if it turns impossible
(what I don't believe for the moment), I would switc...

Diamond graphs, again.
Some time ago I was allowed to discuss "Diamond Graphs", and whether
they would be useful in R, in this mailing list.
The August 2003 issue of The American Statistician has finally arrived
here and I have been able to read the article. A number of points of
interest arise.
1. The article is

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hi Leo,
Like you, I know think the problem doesn't come from the headers with
Icecast. Shoutcast needs some header information before accepting to send
the stream but not Icecast. The flash animation doesn't work with Icecast
either. I tried adding the mp3 extension to my live stream and to serve a
static mp3 through Icecast but I had the same results. Serving a static mp3
